Buyer's feedback: 3 out of 5 stars - * Info on the Bel warranty issue ...
Based on the reviews here about the Beltronics warranty issues, I called Beltronics just now and asked them "what it would cost to have an out-of-warranty 965 repaired".

Answer: $59.95 (which includes return shipping).

Next question: "If I buy a second one for my wife's car from amazon, is is covered under warranty as being purchased from an 'authorized reseller'?"

Answer: Well, you have to watch out for resellers who sell through amazon, they get detectors from store closeouts and such...

I said, "No, I mean if I buy from amazon itself. Is it covered?"

Answer: Yes, amazon itself is an authorized reseller, and you'll be covered.

I don't know if the company rep was blowing smoke, but that's what he said. If he was truthful, then the detectors that Bel wouldn't cover under warranty were bought from an independent seller doing business through amazon, NOT amazon itself.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome Radar detector! Vector 965 just as sensitive as Rx65!!
Bought this detector after reading the Consumers reviews. Placed near top in All categories. Not disappointed in the least and would highly recommend!! Pay no attention to the ones giving it bad reviews, this baby really saved me numerous times.

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - * Detectors okay - Service is is the worst around ...
The detector had been in use less then 6 months when it died. Sent it back for warranty repair (1 year warranty) and they indicated it was out of warranty because I bought it from an un-authorized dealer. Yet they do not list who is authorized to sell it. If you purchase one you better make sure they are authorized to sell it or you will get no support from Beltronics. They leave it up to the consumer to take on this risk. It would be one thing if they had a list of resellers on their web site, but they don't. They want you to call them to find out if the reseller it authorized before you purchase. I have never dealt with a company like this. They indicated that they did not know how the un-authorized sellers are getting the products so it becomes a customer issues (they did confirm the unit I shipped them was a real Beltronics detector).

There are other detectors out there that are as good or better. I would not purchase another one from them.

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - not impressed
I owned 2 Bels before this one. The new mounting system stinks. Previously just snapped on, now I have to pay attention and sometimes use both hands to mount it when I'm driving. Have to push down a button to lock it in and adjust forward/back at the same time. Wouldn't have bought it had I known. Regrets.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * as good or better than the v995 ...
after weeks of researching radar detectors i decided beltronics makes one of the best products on the market today .now i could not pick between the vector 965 or the vector 995. so i researched them two models for range and options.after finding out from beltronics the rx65, vector 965, vector 995 they all have the same basic electronics incased in them, they all have 10x range over other detectors.only difference in them is features.so i went with the vector 965, i figured some of the features it lacks ,i don't need any way and save some money. i've had it now 3 weeks and wow. if you want a top of the line detector that will reach out and find smokey ,this is it. it flat kicks a**.it does the job just fine, my friend has a 995 and it out performed it in a range test,we did on them, not by much just a few feet, but it did.but either one are great, you won't be disapointed in it.

You can say this about D.E.B.S.: director Angela Robinson’s 2005 feature isn’t very good, but it is surprisingly entertaining. The premise, which bears a passing resemblance to any number of previous films (from Heathers and Clueless to Charlie’s Angels and the Austin Powers franchise), involves a secret government agency recruiting young women as spies, based on their smarts, their ability to lie convincingly, and the fact that they look fetching in ultra-miniskirts. Four of the D.E.B.S. are then charged with collaring "criminal mastermind" Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster), who has returned to the States after hatching all manner of nefarious plots overseas. Then comes the twist: Diamond is gay, and one of our heroines, Amy Bradshaw (Sara Foster), unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with her. Out goes the espionage element; in comes the love story, and therein lies the surprise, as this burgeoning lesbian relationship is handled with unexpected sympathy, even tenderness. Sure, the acting, even by veteran grownups like Holland Taylor and Michael Clarke Duncan, is almost uniformly lame, and the script is silly; overall, the film would have to put on considerable weight to even be considered frothy. Still, D.E.B.S. isn’t a bad way to kill a couple of hours. DVD bonus features include a making-of featurette and commentary by Robinson and the cast. --Sam Graham

The teaming of Johnny Knoxville (Jackass: The Movie) and Seann William Scott (Dude, Where's My Car?) as well as the presence of the '70s-flavored car chases that were a specialty of the TV series guarantees that The Dukes of Hazzard will be even more lowbrow than the CBS TV series (1979-85) that inspired it. However, this brain-damaging comedy is more "rehash" than "remake," as good ol' Georgiaboys Luke Duke (Knoxville) and his cousin Bo (Scott) are frequently upstaged bythe General Lee, the Confederate-flagged '69 Charger that they drive, jump, race, and fly in as they smuggle moonshine for their Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson). Meanwhile, cousin Daisy Duke (Jessica Simpson) is reliably available to model her short-shorts (aka "Daisy Dukes") and awesome figure (and let's face it, Simpson's talents pretty much begin and end right there), while corrupt honcho Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds, who should know better) recruits a local NASCAR star to advance his wily scheme of converting Hazzard County into a strip mine. Director Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers) manages to mine some good-natured humor from the movie's oval-track detour and a few colorful supporting players (notably Kevin Hefferman as the Duke's pal Sheev). Otherwise, consider yourself warned: The Dukes of Hazzard is shameless Hollywood product at its most forgettable, trafficking in shameless white, rural Southern stereotypes. If you can make itto the end, there's a blooper reel to reward your endurance. --Jeff Shannon

DVD features
Yes, the unrated edition of The Dukes of Hazzard has nudity... but no, it's not of Jessica Simpson, but topless sorority girls. There are also two sets--"PG-13" and "unrated"--of deleted scenes and bloopers. The four minutes of unrated deleted scenes (supplementing the 25 minutes of "PG-13" deleted scenes) include more sorority girls and a menage à trois for Johnny Knoxville . The five minutes of unrated bloopers (the same amount as the "PG-13" bloopers) feature a few more girls but mostly bad language. Featurettes discuss the Daisy Duke short shorts (and show how you can make your own), car stunts, and the making of the movie (narrated by a cast member of the original TV series). --David Horiuchi
