Testimonials

Buyer's feedback: 3 out of 5 stars - * Not very impressed ...
I bought the new generation of Bose in-ear headphone because I've owned the first generation of them. I expected them to be better than the other ones but I was a bit disappointed. My older pair actually sounds better than the new ones as far as SQ, lows and clarity. The nice upgrades are the connection plug having the 45 degree bend and reinforcement, that will help, and the ear pieces are the same as before. I wish they sounded as good as my old ones. I guess I'll have to live with them for now.

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - Horrible horrible horrible
Horrible

I purchased a pair of the Bose Tri-Port headphones and all I can say is they are the worst headphones I have ever used! I got these because they supposedly had superior bass response. Not only is the bass very poor but in general the sound is very poor. For $90 I was expecting to be blown away and raving about how good they are but that is FAR from reality. The $5 replacements at Wal-Mart would be better.

I am not sure of the impedance of theses but clearly it is very high compared to other ear buds. To achieve a decent sound level with the Bose you have to add an in-line amplifier. With your standard output from an iPod, MP3 player, laptop, etc you can't even hear the music at full volume on an airplane.

The design of the in ear tip is just horrible. It doesn't fit comfortably (not with ANY of the supplied tips) and doesn't seal the ear canal so the ambient noise is overpowering. And worst of all the way the tips fit on the phones is terrible and they come off with little effort so expect to loose them often or plan to glue them to the headphones.

Bose should be ashamed to put their name on this product.

Buyer's feedback: 2 out of 5 stars - * so-so ...
these are nice earphones... I payed $30 for them. they are NOT worth $99 if you pay full price. yesterday I couldn't get the right ear piece to stay in my ear.. kept falling out. I ended up using my old sony earphones... I don't even know why Bose thinks these are superior to the in-ear headphones available. my Apple in-ear earphones are the same quality if not better. so... $99? NO WAY... and I'm a music minor. I listen to a lot of music, live music..recorded music.. and these just aren't up to par with my standards. the regular $200+ headphones bose makes are outstanding..but these aren't at all!

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - high quality sound
very good bass and sounds better than average bud type headphones. Best I've heard!

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Love them! ...
These are excellent headphones. They are well worth the cost. The sound quality is 10x better than the cheap-o headphones that came with my ipod.

It's a measure of the ongoing popularity of Karen and Richard Carpenter that the 2002 release of this video collection in DVD format comes nearly 20 years after Karen's death. The duo's heyday mostly preceded the MTV age, so this 15-song, 55-minute anthology is a bit of a visual hodgepodge, composed of still photos, footage from TV shows and concerts, promo clips, fleeting attempts at conceptual videos, and other weirdness (film of Carpenters albums being pressed on the assembly line? Hey, whatever). You'll see an array of bad haircuts and outfits and a whole lot of lip-syncing, but in the end, it's the music that counts. And the Carpenters' signature sound, with its brilliant arrangements, its lush harmonies, and Karen's exquisite alto voice, was easy-listening pop at its finest. If nothing else, Carpenters: Gold offers another chance to hear that music in all its glory. --Sam Graham

With a gentle tug at the heartstrings, Evelyn tells the true story of an imperfect father whose devotion brought much-needed change to rigid Irish law. It's a labor of love for star and coproducer Pierce Brosnan, who brings just the right touch of Everyman charm to his role as Desmond Doyle, a struggling Dublin tradesman, father of three, and chronic pub-crawler whose wife abandons their family the day after Christmas, 1953. Desmond's a loving father who's boyishly irresponsible; Irish law dictates the removal of his children to stern Catholic orphanages, and his battle for custody is aided by two lawyers (Stephen Rea, Aidan Quinn) who seize this opportunity to revolutionize the courts. With straightforward, unobtrusive style, director Bruce Beresford draws fine performances from Brosnan, Julianna Margulies (as a barmaid who inspires Desmond's sobriety), and especially young Sophie Vavasseur in the title role as Desmond's bright, determined daughter. Sentimental without being saccharine, Evelyn is simple, well made, and bursting with genuine Irish spirit. --Jeff Shannon
