Testimonials
Average Buyer Rating: out of 5 stars

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Nice quality and attractive ...
This product is great for the office. Lightweight, sleek and the sound quality is very good. I only wish it had one level lower volume setting. The lowest volume is acceptable for the office, but just a tad bit louder than I'd prefer to have my radio at. Luckily, I don't share an office and it doesn't get beyond a few feet into the halls, so it's not bad. =) I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I love having my XM radio at work!

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Buy Yet
This portable boombox is awesome! I had almost purchased the same item at a higher price through XM, so happy I checked with Amazon, first. This box makes listening to XM outside so simple, before I had a regular cd player the cassette adaptor, the antenna, the power source for MyFi and the power source for the cd player, way too many wires. I couldn't believe how easy it was to plug in and listen for hours without all the wires. The reception is crystal clear and the sound is just awesome! I would recommend it to anyone who has XM radio. It has made listening by the pool a joy. :)

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - * Nice Sound ...
This unit has a full sound and base. I use to run my receiver on my home system until I purchased this unit. I now leave it on the counter in the kitchen. I highly recommend this unit. The one drawback is the short run time on batteries (1-2hours) at low volume.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - Expand the usefulness of your XM receiver
Unit works great for expanding the usefulness of your XM radio to your desk or home.

The only unit available that works with the XpressRC XM receiver, the unit works well. Sound quality is good, and design is generally good. A switch keeps you from accidentally draining the batteries when AC power is available, and a removable antenna with a generous amount of cable allows you reposition the antenna for best performance.

The unit does not protect the XpressRC real well; it could be damaged if you were carrying the unit around much. Also, the speaker grilles, though well made, are metal and could dent relatively easily.

Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase; just don't plan this unit for a knock-about radio that you are not being fairly careful with during it's use.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * This is good quality product ...
I received this product quickly through an Amazon merchant. It was priced just right at a little over a hundred bucks so I decided to get it. The sound quality is good. The bass is thick and you can turn it off too but I prefer the bass on. I use it for my SkyFi3. It has an antenna inside it which you can extend out for clearer reception inside. All in all, it is a good product and does what its supposed to do.

Usually we're fans of Logitech's gaming mice, but its highest-end G9 Laser Mouse is expensive, overly complex, and lacks the ergonomic thought we've come to expect. If you like to brag about dot-per-inch limits, perhaps the G9's 3,200dpi laser will be enough to sell you, but for the price, we expect the design to match.

While compact and convenient, Panasonic's SD-based SDR-S150 camcorder doesn't make the quality cut.

One of the most unjustly underrated Italian operas receives a production that should help correct that attitude. Andrea Chenier is based on the true story of a poet who was caught up and destroyed by the blind fury of the French Revolution. Giordano's music captures the acrid flavor of that movement, the cynicism of some of its leaders, and Chenier's integrity and tragic fate. This production's value has probably increased since Plácido Domingo, the leading Chenier of his generation, has dropped the role from his repertoire.

All three principals sing eloquently and with a fine sense of the opera's structure and context. Anna Tomowa-Sintow is in even better voice than Domingo, and Giorgio Zancanaro heads an expert supporting cast. The Covent Garden Chorus, directed with distinction by Michael Hampe, gives a memorable impression of the revolutionary mob. Julius Rudel's conducting is totally idiomatic. --Joe McLellan

It would have been better, of course, if this 1984 production of Donizetti's Anna Bolena, or at least its title role, had been filmed 20 years earlier, when Joan Sutherland's voice was in its spectacular prime. But like her Canadian Opera Norma, dating from 1981, this is a better-late-than-never documentation of one of the most remarkable voices of the 20th century.

Lotfi Mansouri spared no effort or expense in making this production special. He personally directed the staging, and handpicked an outstanding cast (right down to the very young and then-unknown Ben Heppner in the small role of Hervey). The visual elements--sets, costumes, and camera work--are also handled with great care, and Sutherland's positive response to this dedication can be sensed in her performance as the unfortunate wife of King Henry VIII. James Morris is best-known as a Wagnerian singer--perhaps the leading Wotan of our time--but he is equally at home in many of the villainous roles that are the fate of bass- baritones (Iago, Scarpia, Don Giovanni). In this sinister tale of an innocent woman ruthlessly destroyed, he shows a surprising knack for the bel canto style. Judith Forst is also excellent in the role of Jane Seymour. --Joe McLellan
