Garmin's handy Automotive navigation kit with City Select North America gives you everything you need to hit the road for a lengthy excursion: an auto mount for your Garmin GPSMAP 60C or 60 CS, a friction mount, a dash mount, and a DC 12-volt power cable that plugs into your vehicle's cigarette lighter. lt also includes a fully unlocked version of Garmin's MapSource City Select v6 for North America, which includes full-coverage maps throughout the United States as well as select Canadian coverage.

City Select Version 6 includes trip and waypoint management functions (which work with nearly all Garmin GPS units, excluding the GPS 100 family and panel-mount aviation units), full coverage for metro and rural areas throughout the contiguous U.S., supplemental coverage of Alaska and Hawaii, and select coverage of Canada. You'll enjoy detailed maps containing highways, interstates, and business and residential streets, with turn restrictions, speed categories, and other navigation features.

Especially convenient is the ability to create automatic, point-to-point routes. 0ver 5 million points of interest include food and drink, lodging, attractions, entertainment, shopping, emergency services, post offices, camp grounds, movie theaters, and other spots.

this is the real deal. a necesity whether on the dash, in the boat, or whereever. the package is priced right considering the software which i believe can be downloaded to two units. double check that.

Buyer's feedback: - * Auto Nav Accessory Pack ...
If you have the 60CSx (or its predecessors) - and you don't want to buy a separate nav unit for the car - I think this is a necessary piece to the GPS puzzle. The hardware is great. The permanent mount is fairly solid and the friction mount lets you move the unit from car to car.
And the mapping DVD has opened up a whole new side to the handheld unit as an in-car turn-by-turn. The downside to this particular item is the Mapping is a couple of years old and will cost you $75 for the update. All but the newest roads and points of interest are on it - though - if you travel to or live by a lot of new retail construction, you may want to look into the update or regional mapping software.

Buyer's feedback: - Friction mount is better than expected
I probably won't ever use the car mount, it's just a simple flat base with 2-sided sticky tape and I think it may leave a sticky mark if I was going to stick it to my dash, which I'm not.

However, the friction mount works GREAT, better than expected. It is very secure with normal driving and has never slipped on me. It will slip with violent moves or rough 4x4 off-road driving, but so what? It is very easy to adjust the angle of it, both tilt and rotate. My only beef is the cradle and power cord interfere with each other. Others solve this by grinding away part of the shoulder of the cradle.

The maps seem standard and about what you would expect from mapquest or anyone else - no complaints there.

I bought this kit for my GPSMap 60CSx. Amazon's description is dated. It comes with City Navigator North America v8, including all of the USA and Canada, as well as the automotive power cable, dash mount, and bean bag mounting base.

I also bought a 2GB memory card to install the entire 1633.8 MB of map data. I took 3 hours to load, but it works just fine.
