* Wrist strap not a problem ...
Other reviewers have spoken of a problem of using the bike mount with the wrist strap. This is not a problem. The mount has a shallow canal in the center that is sufficient for the strap. I use mine mostly with a bike ( > 90%) and I have never removed the strap.
Before I bought this (actually 3 of these, to account for different bikes) I used foam around the handlebars. Once, I must have cinched the strap too tight, because one pin holding the strap pinged out, leaving my new 301 hanging by one pin. For me, I much prefer to have an expensive toy held on to my bike with a solid click into the bracket. I think it's well worth the money.

Bike Bracket: size limitations
Not much to review here with a simple bike bracket; it holds the Garmin 301 very securely when mounted to your bike. But beware: if your handlebar is more than 1.0 inch in diameter, this will not fit unless you fabricate your own handlebar mount (from scratch, using a couple of critical parts of this device).

* FYI: Does not work with Foretrex 101! ...
This product is also listed as an accessory for the Foretrex 101, but the Foretrex is too thick because it uses batteries. The correct p/n for the Foretrex 101 handlebar bracket is 010-10482-00.

It does what it says it does.
I use this (yes, expensive) device on my bike every day, and I think it's well made, easy to use, and a nice companion to my Forerunner 201. It is designed to work exactly as the snap-in charger cradle works - and it works well. Is the bike mount as cheap as the "foam pipe around the handle bars" method suggested by other reviewers? No, but the mount does look a lot nicer and - in my opinion - works far better.

* you don't need it ...
All you need to do is get some foam, cut a small rectangle that will fit like a bracelet around the handlebar of your bike, and put your garmin forerunner on the bike as you would your arm, over the foam. works great, much cheaper.
