Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - * updated Gamin Map ...
I'm glad Garmin created an update with the Garmin Map 2008 City Navigator for North America. However, roads and neighborhoods are being built at a constant rate where I live and that make this product out-of-date by the time it reached me. I would like to see Garmin create more frequent updates that could be viewed first and then downloaded.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - Very Good but not perfect
The old software had some mistakes in it, street names were missing or the Streetpilot told you the house is on the left but it was on the right side. It' seems like the last problem was solved.
Installation is easy, BUT, you loose all your favorites. Everything got deleted when you download the new maps. Come on guys, you make a fortune with that software and nobody thought about "Saving your Favorties"? So now I have to find all the addresses again online and type them all in again.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * not bad ...
I dint have a problem with this at all, it has for the most in my area the new roads and routs are better but not the greatest but just to have the updated map its not bad and am happy i upgraded.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - For sure you wont get lost
updated Garmin C330 with this 2008 update and it dint let me down.Guess it was worth updating ,though the price seems little expensive.Good to buy.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Garmin Map Update ...
Amazon has the lowest price I was able to find for the 2008 Map update for my Garmin GPS. The CD came in the factory plastic hanger package. The software installed and registered with Garmin without a hickup.

Joshua Logan's 1967 film of the hit Broadway musical about the love triangle between King Arthur (Richard Harris), Guenevere (Vanessa Redgrave), and Sir Lancelot (Franco Nero) is strong on star emphasis and weak on such fundamentals as story and sets. Except for a handful of solidly dramatic scenes--such as Guenevere grieving, late in the film, for the ruination she and Lancelot have caused--there's not a lot to get excited about. (The story's theme of a lost, great society, however, certainly struck a chord in the 1960s.) The Lerner-Loewe songs ("If Ever I Would Leave You," "Camelot") pretty much sell themselves, even if they are, at best, only proficiently performed in this movie. --Tom Keogh

"The book was better" has been the complaint of many a reader since the invention of movies. Frank Darabont's second adaptation of a Stephen King prison drama (The Shawshank Redemption was the first) is a very faithful adaptation of King's serial novel. In the middle of the Depression, Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) runs death row at Cold Mountain Penitentiary. Into this dreary world walks a mammoth prisoner, John Coffey (Michael Duncan) who, very slowly, reveals a special gift that will change the men working and dying (in the electric chair, masterfully and grippingly staged) on the mile . As with King's book, Darabont takes plenty of time to show us Edgecomb's world before delving into John Coffey's mystery. With Darabont's superior storytelling abilities, his touch for perfect casting, and a leisurely 188-minute running time, his movie brings to life nearly every character and scene from the novel. Darabont even improves the novel's two endings, creating a more emotionally satisfying experience. The running time may try patience, but those who want a story, as opposed to quick-fix entertainment, will be rewarded by this finely tailored tale. --Doug Thomas

On the DVD

Listen to our interview with Frank Darabont.
Anyone who has seen this Oscar-nominated film knows Frank Darabont likes to t-a-k-e h-i-s t-i-m-e. He certainly does the same in filling all three hours of his commentary track which he recorded over several sessions. Darabont has studied other DVDs and purposely does not repeat tidbits covered in the excellent new 90-minute documentary on author Stephen King and the making of the film. Other solid segments are two deleted scenes, a never-used teaser trailer, and Michael Duncan Clarke's screen test. The highlight is two remarkable tests of Tom Hanks in old-age makeup. Both are very credible, but it was decided to use another actor. The outcome is a DVD that puts the "special" back into the special edition. --Doug Thomas

When Roman tribune Marcellus Gallio (Richard Burton) is sent to Jerusalem, one of his assignments is the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Marcellus, a cynical and hardened man, wins the robe Jesus wore to the crucifixion while gambling with other Roman soldiers underneath the dying savior. He later becomes convinced that his hallucinations and violent outbursts are the result of a curse received from the robe, which is now in the possession of his escaped slave, Demetrius (Victor Mature), somewhere in the Middle East. He sets out to find Demetrius in order to destroy the robe and the curse and finds faith instead, converting to Christianity. This was the first movie to be filmed in CinemaScope, and won Oscars in 1953 for costume design, art direction, and set decoration. The visual aspects of the film are stunning, and it may be worth viewing for that alone; however, the script and acting leave much to be desired, and you won't find inspiration in these areas if that's what interests you. If, however, you are more interested in this film for its religious matter, the story of the conversion of the hardened Marcellus is inspiring. --James McGrath
