The 4.3-inch backlit widescreen touchscreen gives you 70% more actual screen area than a 3.5-inch screen. Primarily this translates into a better view of the area through which you are driving. This is especially useful in showing you what parks, restaurants, ATM, gas stations, etc. are nearby, or in letting you know whether a detour is a good idea. Also, the device itself is larger, meaning controls on the screen are more widely spaced and somewhat easier to push.


Smart, Powerful Design
nüvi is built with a high-sensitivity GPS receiver for extreme accuracy, as well as an SD card slot for storing your media and additional navigation tools, and a USB interface for loading data. All this is wrapped up in a package that measures 4.8 x 2.9 x 0.8 inches (W x H x D) and weighs just 6.6 ounces. The nüvi display is touchscreen-enabled, making it a cinch to control the device with your fingertips. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to five hours of battery life depending on use.

nüvi comes ready to go right out of the box with preloaded City Navigator NT street maps for the continental United States, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, including a hefty database of more than 6 milliong points of interest (P0ls), such as hotels, restaurants, fuel, ATMs and more, that are searchable by name or category. Simply touch the color screen to enter a destination, and nüvi takes you there with 2D or 3D maps and turn-by-turn voice directions. Garmin gets its map data from NAVTEQ, a world leader in premium-quality mapping. ln addition, the nüvi accepts custom (P0ls), such as school zones and safety cameras and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming P0ls

Bought the Garmin Nuvi 200W for my father's birthday and he so raved about it my husband wanted one. He loves it, as it is easy to read (200W) and basically leads you to whatever address or location you want to go to easily (verbal commands). Price is great!! This may not have all the "bell and whistles" others have, but if you want one that gets you to where you want to go, this is it...... Well worth it, we love it. I would highly recommend.

I highly recommend this product at this price point. I've used this on several trips since purchasing, one trip to a remote area of upstate NY and the nuvi never missed a beat. The estimated time of arrival on a five hour trip was within a minute. Points of interest are well laid out and easy to use. This unit has a very intuitive feel and easy to use. I've yet to have to use the manual for anything. My wife is somewhat directionally challenged and my son is a new driver so it's nice to know they can get around town and back again without getting lost. The only down side that I have found is that it can take up to 5 minutes to obtain a satellite signal when first powered up. Otherwise, I would have given it a 5 star rating.

The Garmin Nuvi 200W GPS is an inexpensive model that works just as well as the more expensive models.I have recommended it to some friends and they are just as pleased with this GPS as I am. It is extremely easy to operate, very percise, and has become a necessity when traveling for work or pleasure. It's thin body design makes it very easy to pack and store when not in use! The wide display allows to view the map in a larger format and the viewing options and features are outstanding. All of the features have worked perfectly. Especially the search feature when looking for certain places like hotels, gas stations and resturants.
Highly recommend this product.
