The widescreen format gives you 70% more actual screen area than a 3.5-inch screen. Primarily this translates into a better view of the area through which you are driving. This is especially useful in showing you what parks, restaurants, ATM, gas stations, etc. are nearby, or in letting you know whether a detour is a good idea. Also, the device itself is larger, meaning controls on the screen are more widely spaced and somewhat easier to push.

And if you end up missing a turn, or you're forced into a detour that is not relayed through the traffic receiver, the nüvi's sophisticated automatic routing will get you back on track in no time. ln most areas, TMC Clear Channel traffic broadcasts are continuous — there's no waiting for scheduled traffic news updates or random alerts. Because traffic broadcasts are received via a 'silent' FM data channel, you can still listen to music or news programming on your car radio without interference from incoming FM traffic data transmissions. I own a nuvi 350 and purchased the nuvi 660 for my dad for fathers day. I think this has been his favorite fathers day gift in a long time. This GPS is very accurate, picks up satellites quickly, easy to use, and is a must have when going on vacation or just trying to get to the kids soccer games. I recommend this unit over the nuvi 350 if you can afford the extra $100 or so.

The nuvi 660 is great. I bought it just before a long road trip, and it prevented more than a few human navigational errors. Easy to learn and understand, you can start using it right away. The Bluetooth feature works well, too, and allows me to comply with California's new "hands-free" cell phone law (can't talk on your cell phone while driving unless using a hands-free device). Sometimes the nuvi (named "Chuckie" by a skeptical friend) takes me on a route I wouldn't have thought of, but we are getting used to each other, and of course Chuckie is right. The listings for restaurants, gas, and lodging are not comprehensive, but I think the nuvi is still adequate in that regard. I compared the nuvi 660 to the more expensive models and I think this was a great value. It holds a charge for a relatively long time, so you can use it away from the charger. Chuckie is great!

I purchase the Garmin nuvi 660 GPS, about a month ago great product, straight out of the box. All I had to do was plug it in acquire a signal and I was gone. I took it with me when I traveled out of town the very next day after receiving the product. It saved me time and it let me know where slow traffic was ahead and how long the delay was. I love this product, a couple of my co-workers want to get one. I would highly recommend this product!
