0ur opinion:

:
ln-car navigation has never been easier - or more affordable. 0ur StreetPilot 'c-series' GPS navigators feature a simple touchscreen interface, with automatic route calculation to any destination and turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions along the way. Selecting a destination is straightforward and requires only a limited amount of input from the user. Plus, the StreetPilot c320 and StreetPilot c330 allow you to choose between a three-dimensional navigation view or the more traditional 'bird's eye' overhead view.

For the ultimate out-of-the-box convenience, the StreetPilot c330 comes preprogrammed with highly detailed MapSource City Select street data. The database features nearly six million points of interest?including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. (The c320 comes with a 128 MB SD card and a MapSource City Select CD-R0M for data transfer from a PC via a USB connection.)

As an added benefit, you can now import customized points of interest with the help of Garmin's free P0l Loader software. The possibilities are endless - upload safety cameras or school zones, and you will receive a warning if you are traveling too fast. ln addition, an optional proximity-alert feature notifies you of upcoming custom P0ls.

The centerpiece of both units is a bright, 3.5-inch diagonal, 16-bit color display that makes navigation a snap. The StreetPilot c330 features dual integrated speakers for high-quality voice prompts, and an internal lithium-ion battery for out-of-car route planning.

The new StreetPilot c-series boasts distinctive and sleek styling?the only buttons are a rotary volume knob and an on/off switch. The device is secured by a suction-mount cradle that fastens to the windshield for easy portability between vehicles.

With a simple touch screen interface, automatic route calculation to any destination, and turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions, the StreetPilot c330 GPS navigator is a powerful companion for your adventures on the road. Plus, Garmin has designed the 'c-series' of car navigation units to be as simple and easy-to-use as possible-- no more intimidating features, just straightforward, basic navigation at your fingertips. Selecting a destination is as simple as a few finger-strokes, and you can choose between a three-dimensional navigation view or the more traditional 'bird's eye' overhead view.

The 3.5-inch diagonal, 16-bit color display makes navigation a snap.

The included database features nearly six million points of interests including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions.
The c330 keeps track of places that you find and stores the fifty most recent finds in an easy to access list called Recent Selections, placing the most recently viewed at the top of the list. This becomes a very helpful feature if you visit the same places over and over and don't want the inconvenient of reloading the information in the unit multiple times. Although the c330 boasts distinctive and sleek styling, simplicity is the name of the game. The only buttons are a rotary volume knob and an on/off switch. The device is secured by a suction-mount cradle that fastens to the windshield for easy portability between vehicles. You can customize the unit's appearance with an array of colored faceplates that are sold separately.

For the ultimate out-of-the-box convenience, the StreetPilot c330 comes pre-loaded with highly detailed MapSource City Select street data. The database features an industry-leading five million-plus points of interest, including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. The c330's bright, 3.5-inch diagonal, 16-bit color display makes navigation a snap. The unit also features dual integrated speakers for high-quality voice prompts, and an internal lithium-ion battery for out-of-car route planning.

lt's also worth mentioning that with some GPS units the manual to use them is as thick as a phone book, but it was a pleasant surprise to find that the c330's manual was very easy to use and provided many screen shots to make sure the user understood the units capabilities. lf you find yourself on the road looking for addresses often and just want a GPS to tell you where to go simply and clearly than this unit was made for you.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - * My Streetpilot c330 ...
I bought this device about 6 mos ago. It's a great gps! I've done several trips to Alabama and Louisiana with it and no complaints at all. Then I drove from MS to California. It wasn't a difficult drive but it got us to restaurants and hotels even displaying the phone numbers to the hotels so we could call to see if there were available rooms.
My 75 yo mom had to go to Los Angeles, to an unfamiliar address and I taught her how to use it (she is totally technology illiterate). It took her less than 5 minutes to figure out. She called when she got there and said she really liked it! She just got a new present:)

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - garmproductsin
The garmin is a great product. Amazon does a good job with the shipping and prompt delivery

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great System ...
Great product. I used this on the way to my boyfriend's house and I was amazed at how accurate it was.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - nightmare to get but great to use
Customer service rep and Superviser were the worst I have ever ran across
All they did was telling Me what I did wrong
Never did they ask what can We do to make this OK
I can never tell every one I know or meet
You will never have a problem with Amazon
But product was great

Buyer's feedback: 2 out of 5 stars - * Good Price Old Tech ...
Two stars only because new technology has passed it by. Otherwise a great unit for the price.

I have had this unit for two years. Garmin discontinued it last year and is not supporting it. I do know that Garmin is not supporting the software I suggest that you ask Garmin if it will provide a free map upgrade for a newly purchased unit. The unit is a solid performer and easy to read. I recommend the dashboard mount. It does not move around and is easy to store when you park. GPS' are the Number 1 "smash and grab" item. Just leaving on the windshield mount may be enough incentive for some one to smash a window to see if the unit was left in the car. This Garmin has a number of outstanding features. My favorite features are its easy to read screen and its long battery life. Depending where I am, it takes between 30 seconds and three minutes to lock onto a satellite. The steps to input a destination could be more efficient. There are a lot of neat features to explore. The POIs are limited and out of date. If you do not mind old tech (slower satillite connection) and maybe an earlier map version, this is a great choice.

Alienware's flagship gaming laptop, the Area-51 m9750, has plenty of appeal for high-end gamers, but the alien head aesthetic seems dated, and newer components are right around the corner.

The Academy Award winner for Best Picture, Best Director Robert Zemeckis, and Best Actor Tom Hanks, this unlikely story of a slow-witted but good-hearted man somehow at the center of the pivotal events of the 20th century is a funny and heartwarming epic. Hanks plays the title character, a shy Southern boy in love with his childhood best friend (Robin Wright) who finds that his ability to run fast takes him places. As an All-Star football player he meets John F. Kennedy; as a soldier in Vietnam he's a war hero; and as a world champion Ping-Pong player he's hailed by Richard Nixon. Becoming a successful shrimp-boat captain, he still yearns for the love of his life, who takes a quite different and much sadder path in life. The visual effects incorporating Hanks into existing newsreel footage is both funny and impressive, but the heart of the film lies in its sweet love story and in the triumphant performance of Hanks as an unassuming soul who savors the most from his life and times. --Robert Lane

Gina Prince-Bythewood, a former college athlete, puts a spin on this one-on-one tale of Love and Basketball. Sanaa Lathan (The Best Man) is the fiercely driven, hot-tempered Monica, a tomboy who gives her all for basketball. Omar Epps (The Mod Squad) is Quincy, an NBA player's son who has pro dreams of his own. Next-door neighbors since first grade, they start as rivals (she flabbergasts the boy by outplaying him in a game of driveway pickup) and age into best friends and lovers. The romantic complications follow a familiar game plan, but the film throws a fascinating spotlight onto the contrast between men's and women's basketball. While Quincy plays college ball on huge courts to cheering, sold-out crowds, we see Monica's sweat, tears, and sheer physical dedication in front of tiny audiences in small gyms and second-rate auditoriums.

The story is pointedly set in the late 1980s, years before the establishment of the WNBA, so Monica's prospects for pro ball lie exclusively in Europe, while Quincy steps into the pros at home. It's a pleasure to see a character as passionate and fully developed as Monica, and Lathan gives a fiery portrayal (she had never played ball before the film, but you'd never tell from her performance). Prince-Bythewood favors her struggle over Quincy's and opens our eyes to her unique challenges with a sharp, savvy contrast. Alfre Woodard costars as Monica's harping mom (always trying to get her to be more ladylike) and Dennis Haysbert is Quincy's philandering father. Hoops fan Spike Lee produced. --Sean Axmaker
