0ur opinion:

:
ln-car navigation has never been easier - or more affordable. 0ur StreetPilot 'c-series' GPS navigators feature a simple touchscreen interface, with automatic route calculation to any destination and turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions along the way. Selecting a destination is straightforward and requires only a limited amount of input from the user. Plus, the StreetPilot c320 and StreetPilot c330 allow you to choose between a three-dimensional navigation view or the more traditional 'bird's eye' overhead view.

For the ultimate out-of-the-box convenience, the StreetPilot c330 comes preprogrammed with highly detailed MapSource City Select street data. The database features nearly six million points of interest?including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. (The c320 comes with a 128 MB SD card and a MapSource City Select CD-R0M for data transfer from a PC via a USB connection.)

As an added benefit, you can now import customized points of interest with the help of Garmin's free P0l Loader software. The possibilities are endless - upload safety cameras or school zones, and you will receive a warning if you are traveling too fast. ln addition, an optional proximity-alert feature notifies you of upcoming custom P0ls.

The centerpiece of both units is a bright, 3.5-inch diagonal, 16-bit color display that makes navigation a snap. The StreetPilot c330 features dual integrated speakers for high-quality voice prompts, and an internal lithium-ion battery for out-of-car route planning.

The new StreetPilot c-series boasts distinctive and sleek styling?the only buttons are a rotary volume knob and an on/off switch. The device is secured by a suction-mount cradle that fastens to the windshield for easy portability between vehicles.

With a simple touch screen interface, automatic route calculation to any destination, and turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions, the StreetPilot c330 GPS navigator is a powerful companion for your adventures on the road. Plus, Garmin has designed the 'c-series' of car navigation units to be as simple and easy-to-use as possible-- no more intimidating features, just straightforward, basic navigation at your fingertips. Selecting a destination is as simple as a few finger-strokes, and you can choose between a three-dimensional navigation view or the more traditional 'bird's eye' overhead view.

The streetPilot 'c-series' GPS navigators feature a simple touchscreen interface, with automatic route calculation to any destination.

The 3.5-inch diagonal, 16-bit color display makes navigation a snap.

The included database features nearly six million points of interests including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions.
The c330 keeps track of places that you find and stores the fifty most recent finds in an easy to access list called Recent Selections, placing the most recently viewed at the top of the list. This becomes a very helpful feature if you visit the same places over and over and don't want the inconvenient of reloading the information in the unit multiple times. Although the c330 boasts distinctive and sleek styling, simplicity is the name of the game. The only buttons are a rotary volume knob and an on/off switch. The device is secured by a suction-mount cradle that fastens to the windshield for easy portability between vehicles. You can customize the unit's appearance with an array of colored faceplates that are sold separately.

For the ultimate out-of-the-box convenience, the StreetPilot c330 comes pre-loaded with highly detailed MapSource City Select street data. The database features an industry-leading five million-plus points of interest, including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. The c330's bright, 3.5-inch diagonal, 16-bit color display makes navigation a snap. The unit also features dual integrated speakers for high-quality voice prompts, and an internal lithium-ion battery for out-of-car route planning.

lt's also worth mentioning that with some GPS units the manual to use them is as thick as a phone book, but it was a pleasant surprise to find that the c330's manual was very easy to use and provided many screen shots to make sure the user understood the units capabilities. lf you find yourself on the road looking for addresses often and just want a GPS to tell you where to go simply and clearly than this unit was made for you.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Never get lost again ...
Unit works great, cuts traqvel time down by putting me in the correct lane on the highway for the exits. Love the addition info on the secondary screens. Maps clear, sharp and almostt always correct (95% of the time).

Would recommend to anyone who drive in different areas for work or pleasure.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - Definitely a great investment if you are bad with directions.
Let me first say shipping took about a week, which is pretty good as it was the free shipping option.

So I just finished testing this unit while i was out and about on a film shoot this past weekend. The film had three different locations in So. CA that i had to navigate to and it worked awesome. Its super easy to use and worked awesome! I just typed in the address and it took me right to the place and often using the fastest route. For example; one particular location, everybody else took one route and I followed my GPS and I arrived there before everybody else.

One thing that I love about it is how it re-calculates the route if you miss the turn (which I purposely did to test how it would react). It takes about 5 seconds to recalculate.

A really cool safety feature is that while your in motion it doesn't allow you to input an address, which you shouldn't be doing anyway because you should be watching the road and not typing in an address so that's kind of a cool built in feature.

The included mount is very secure and amazingly solid. I'm really impressed with it! The power cord plugs right into the mount so when you remove the GPS you don't have to unplug anything. That is a great feature! Way to go Garmin.

The one "con" i noticed is that it didn't have a certain city in the map(Toluca Lake), which is a small city located between Burbank and Studio City. I'm not really that surprised it doesn't have that city because Toluca Lake is almost a city within a city.

But overall this GPS Rocks! I am horrible with directions and have a knack for getting lost so I am really pleased that I finally picked up a GPS. With my busy schedule I just didn't have the time to Mapquest everything. Now I can just punch in the address and go. I will be using this all the time. I would definitely recommend it. It's one of the best purchases i've made.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * I bought my second Street Pilot c330 ...
I bought my first c330 2 years ago and thought it was great. Recently the battery went dead and I stupidly took it apart, bought a new battery and replaced the old one. Disaster!! I lost all the memory. I wanted to get another of the same model because I do not like the "voice" in all the newer models naming the street of the next instruction. The voice is chopped and I find it annoying. So I am once again overly pleased with the Garmin Street Pilot c330.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - great product
i purchased this item after being refurbished for a reduced price and it worked great right out of the box. i recommend it to everyone!

The Garmin Street Pilot satisfied all my wants and needs and the price is great. Easy to operate and it is menu driven, you don't have to read the manual.

Alienware's flagship gaming laptop, the Area-51 m9750, has plenty of appeal for high-end gamers, but the alien head aesthetic seems dated, and newer components are right around the corner.

It's a measure of the ongoing popularity of Karen and Richard Carpenter that the 2002 release of this video collection in DVD format comes nearly 20 years after Karen's death. The duo's heyday mostly preceded the MTV age, so this 15-song, 55-minute anthology is a bit of a visual hodgepodge, composed of still photos, footage from TV shows and concerts, promo clips, fleeting attempts at conceptual videos, and other weirdness (film of Carpenters albums being pressed on the assembly line? Hey, whatever). You'll see an array of bad haircuts and outfits and a whole lot of lip-syncing, but in the end, it's the music that counts. And the Carpenters' signature sound, with its brilliant arrangements, its lush harmonies, and Karen's exquisite alto voice, was easy-listening pop at its finest. If nothing else, Carpenters: Gold offers another chance to hear that music in all its glory. --Sam Graham

With a gentle tug at the heartstrings, Evelyn tells the true story of an imperfect father whose devotion brought much-needed change to rigid Irish law. It's a labor of love for star and coproducer Pierce Brosnan, who brings just the right touch of Everyman charm to his role as Desmond Doyle, a struggling Dublin tradesman, father of three, and chronic pub-crawler whose wife abandons their family the day after Christmas, 1953. Desmond's a loving father who's boyishly irresponsible; Irish law dictates the removal of his children to stern Catholic orphanages, and his battle for custody is aided by two lawyers (Stephen Rea, Aidan Quinn) who seize this opportunity to revolutionize the courts. With straightforward, unobtrusive style, director Bruce Beresford draws fine performances from Brosnan, Julianna Margulies (as a barmaid who inspires Desmond's sobriety), and especially young Sophie Vavasseur in the title role as Desmond's bright, determined daughter. Sentimental without being saccharine, Evelyn is simple, well made, and bursting with genuine Irish spirit. --Jeff Shannon

Few would accuse Fantasia of a reluctance to abide by the wisdom that what you've got, you should flaunt, and the vocal gusto she slathers over her full-length debut gets partial credit for earning--and keeping--your attention. To a greater extent, though, the high-wattage help heaped over the Idol 3 champ and Patti LaBelle-sound-alike makes the disc dazzle. In addition to pitch-ins from Missy Elliott, who produced and co-wrote three tracks and busts out a two-snaps-up rhyme on "Selfish (I Want U 2 Myself)," Jazze Pha duets on the ultra-mod "Don't Act Right" and Jermaine Dupri wrote and produced the smolderer "Got Me Waiting." Surprisingly, though, it's not those tracks or even the Idol-propelled cover of the Gershwins' "Summertime" that will stick with listeners most. Instead, first single "Truth Is," a sweet, old-school R&B lament directed toward a lost love, and "Baby Mama," a spirited shout-out to hard-working single mothers, snare standout status with their from-the-gut authenticity. Keeping it real is what won Fantasia the hearts of millions on TV, and despite Free Yourself's likable slickness, it convinces that--hot commodity or no--she's not about to forget it. -Tammy La Gorce
