Advanced Wireless and GPS Technology
At the heart of the StreetPilot c550 is a high-sensitivity WAAS-capable GPS receiver by SiRF that provides outstanding acquisition times and the ability to maintain a strong signal under heavy foliage and near city skyscrapers. This means you'll always know precisely where you are. Meanwhile, an automotive-grade, sunlight-readable, 2.8 x 2.1-inches (WxH) anti-glare TFT LCD touch-screen display offers easy readability. With dimensions of 4.4 x 3.2 x 2.2-inches (WxHxD), and at about nine ounces in weight, the StreetPilot c550 features a streamlined design that will fit easily on any dashboard with the included vehicle suction mount. its been only 2 weeks, it is broken already ( not physically), I mean not working properly. yesterday it mislead me and made me travel 20 miles extra unnecessarily. FInally I had to shut it down and find my own way to the destination. It was not a remote area, i picked up a friend of mine from boston logan airport and had to drop them off at boston downtown but I ended up going to revere. I restarted it and tried again still it didnt work properly. I dont know if the amazon is gonna replace it, i ahve to call them today and find out.

So far, the GPS has been accurate and we have not gotten lost! It is so easy to program. Almost idiot proof!!! For someone like my husband, who is technically challenged, the GPS has been a dream come true.

After much research, I believe this Garmin to be the best buy for the money. I purchased one for my son, then, after finding it cheaper on , I purchased another for my daughter. They absolutely love the Garmin and have sold me on it. I am going to purchase one for myself. My daughter said the directions are given before you need to make a turn, not right as you are passing the street as most do.

i REALLY LOVE THE GARMIN, OUR ONLY PROBLEM IS WE HAVE TO PUT IN OUR SON'S ADDRESS BECAUSE 911 CHANGED OURS AND WE CAN'T GET IT REGISTERED IN THE GARMIN.ITS GREAT TO GO ANYWHERE AND BE ABLE TO GET THERE EASILY. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS IF YOU WANT TO GO TO A CITY YOU HAVE TOO NO MATTER WHAT PUT IN AN ADDRESS, SO IF YOU DON'T KNOW ONE WE JUST PICK ONE FROM THE CHOICE THEY GIVE YOU.WOULDN'T BE WITHOUT IT.

I am still learning how to use my Garmin, but so far I am fairly happy with it. I still carry a road map however, as I can't break from the need for a larger visual.

The bluetooth is handy, but I find it a bit difficult to hear call with road noise at times, and I have to speak loudly into it.

It is worth the price. I saved a lot of money on Amazon over buying it locally (could not get the model locally without shedding another 250+ for it) and over having one put in my car (1800.00)

AM testing it out driving from NY to Kentucky tomorrow. That will be the true test, and I have to activate the traffic report option yet.

But so far, I am satisfied with my purchase! Happy Trails!
