Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - * WORST PHONE EVER!!!!!!!!! ...
We purchased this phone this past summer. It is the worst phone ever!!
The caller ID doesn't work. It looses its connection all the time. When you pick the phone up to call......it just beeps at you. We have tried everything from resetting the phone to unplugging the battery on all units. The manual is of no help. I have called Thomson who troubleshoots this phone for GE several times and they are of no help...except to say...you need to ship it back to us at YOUR expense because we made a faulty phone and then we will ship you back another faulty phone. Good grief! When will they admit they have a HUGE problem here. I will never buy another GE product if this is how they treat the customers. They want me to throw good money after a bad item because they are telling me I have to pay the shipping fee for their faulty item!
DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. IT DOES NOT WORK!!! AND YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY TO SEND IT IN!! MODEL NUMBER OF THE PHONE IS 28213EE2. They wouldn't give me the corporate office number, but you can find it [...] to let them know how you feel about their crappy products they are putting up for sale.

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - Cool looking phone that does not work is just a paperweight
The phone looks great and was easy to set up but unfortunately I only get a dial tone about every second time that I turn the phone on. This requires that I unplug the phone for a few seconds and reset the phone. When I purchased this phone I had the expectation that it would work; I was severely disappointed.

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - * Worst. Phone. Ever. ...
Yes, I know someone else already said that, but I want to make it perfectly clear that this person wasn't exaggerating. This phone is so bad that in the absence of a phone for my land line, I plugged in my 10 year old fax machine. Yeah, that bad. Like the other reviewer said, don't get this phone if you are looking for something to make or receive calls on. It's utterly useless. This phone is so bad that I came to this site for the express purpose of writing a bad review. It's so bad that although I lost the receipt, I am driving it back to the retailer for the satisfaction of giving it back to them and telling them "send this piece of crap back to GE. No I do not want a store credit, I don't want a refund, just take it away." Literally every important call that came in since the time I bought this phone, I've missed because the phone didn't ring. I check, is the Do Not Disturb on? No. is it charged? Yep. Check the manual... nothing about not ringing, or beeping when you try to use it. Like the problem simply doesn't exist. Tried moving outlets, tried changing phone jacks, tried staying closer to the base. Nope. Nothing. Never before has a piece of home electronics inspired such anger and frustration from me. Just a piece of crap with ringtones that out-annoy the most annoying of cell phone ringtones, useless speed dial, crappy volume control, programming that takes half a day... don't buy this phone. You're better off without a phone. Seriously. It won't work when you need it and when it does, the ringtones will make you want to throw it out the window. If I could take it to the engineer who designed it and do a thing Amazon would flag the review for, I would. I really would. you think i'm being facetious, but i really would.

i would like to suggest the following alternative:

i've had the at&t phone now for a month, without a single incident. i feel spoiled with a working phone.

Buyer's feedback: 3 out of 5 stars - Another poor GE phone
I agree with the other reviews about the connection problem. I got this phone as a replacement phone from Thomson Inc. which is GE's service company. I was excited when I saw that I had received a Dect 6.0 instead of my earlier useless 5.8 phone. The sound quality was great and it felt good in the hand. The the happiness didn't last long though. Almost immediately it started to loose the connection. I had to unplug it every time to get it to work again. I spent hours on the phone with Thomson Inc. to try to get them to take it back without to have to pay for the shipping on top of everything else. There is never going to be another GE phone for me. I bought a Panasonic instead and hope to have better luck with this one. I give the phone 3 stars for the sound and everything else, except for the connection problem that seems to be the big issue with this phone.

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - * Nice cordless - When it works, which isn't often ...
Purchased this phone in September of 2008. Followed all the directions about charging the phone, as it repeatedly states to charge for 16 hours before use. The phone itself is very easy to use, and the menus are intuitive. Sound quality is decent, and there are a good number of features, including different ringtones for different callers, intercom from handset to handset, transfering a call from one handset to the next, etc...

But here is the real rub. I've had the phone plugged in for 48 hours and it has already lost connection to its base 4x. And twice it was when I had an incoming call. So couldn't answer the phone, because the handset just blinks and bleeps whenever you hit a button. The other times were when I went to make a call, and there was no dial tone. Re-registering the handset to the cradle takes only a few moments, but 4x in 48 hours? And it makes no difference how close you are to the cradle. I was within 2 feet of the cradle, and the handset still could not make a connection to the cradle.

It seems as if the phone is relatively new, so a websearch does not turn up much information on this line of phones, but what I did find (after the fact) is several complaints about the phone losing connection to base.

Until GE cleans up the QA on this phone, wherever it comes from, this phone cannot be recommended.

You can say this about D.E.B.S.: director Angela Robinson’s 2005 feature isn’t very good, but it is surprisingly entertaining. The premise, which bears a passing resemblance to any number of previous films (from Heathers and Clueless to Charlie’s Angels and the Austin Powers franchise), involves a secret government agency recruiting young women as spies, based on their smarts, their ability to lie convincingly, and the fact that they look fetching in ultra-miniskirts. Four of the D.E.B.S. are then charged with collaring "criminal mastermind" Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster), who has returned to the States after hatching all manner of nefarious plots overseas. Then comes the twist: Diamond is gay, and one of our heroines, Amy Bradshaw (Sara Foster), unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with her. Out goes the espionage element; in comes the love story, and therein lies the surprise, as this burgeoning lesbian relationship is handled with unexpected sympathy, even tenderness. Sure, the acting, even by veteran grownups like Holland Taylor and Michael Clarke Duncan, is almost uniformly lame, and the script is silly; overall, the film would have to put on considerable weight to even be considered frothy. Still, D.E.B.S. isn’t a bad way to kill a couple of hours. DVD bonus features include a making-of featurette and commentary by Robinson and the cast. --Sam Graham

The teaming of Johnny Knoxville (Jackass: The Movie) and Seann William Scott (Dude, Where's My Car?) as well as the presence of the '70s-flavored car chases that were a specialty of the TV series guarantees that The Dukes of Hazzard will be even more lowbrow than the CBS TV series (1979-85) that inspired it. However, this brain-damaging comedy is more "rehash" than "remake," as good ol' Georgiaboys Luke Duke (Knoxville) and his cousin Bo (Scott) are frequently upstaged bythe General Lee, the Confederate-flagged '69 Charger that they drive, jump, race, and fly in as they smuggle moonshine for their Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson). Meanwhile, cousin Daisy Duke (Jessica Simpson) is reliably available to model her short-shorts (aka "Daisy Dukes") and awesome figure (and let's face it, Simpson's talents pretty much begin and end right there), while corrupt honcho Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds, who should know better) recruits a local NASCAR star to advance his wily scheme of converting Hazzard County into a strip mine. Director Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers) manages to mine some good-natured humor from the movie's oval-track detour and a few colorful supporting players (notably Kevin Hefferman as the Duke's pal Sheev). Otherwise, consider yourself warned: The Dukes of Hazzard is shameless Hollywood product at its most forgettable, trafficking in shameless white, rural Southern stereotypes. If you can make itto the end, there's a blooper reel to reward your endurance. --Jeff Shannon

DVD features
Yes, the unrated edition of The Dukes of Hazzard has nudity... but no, it's not of Jessica Simpson, but topless sorority girls. There are also two sets--"PG-13" and "unrated"--of deleted scenes and bloopers. The four minutes of unrated deleted scenes (supplementing the 25 minutes of "PG-13" deleted scenes) include more sorority girls and a menage à trois for Johnny Knoxville . The five minutes of unrated bloopers (the same amount as the "PG-13" bloopers) feature a few more girls but mostly bad language. Featurettes discuss the Daisy Duke short shorts (and show how you can make your own), car stunts, and the making of the movie (narrated by a cast member of the original TV series). --David Horiuchi
