0ur opinion: Product Review:lf you're looking to combine the convenience of motion-activated lighting and the security of an audible alert, this is the kit you want.
The motion sensor may be mounted wherever you need it to be without any hardwiring, and it features a wide 180-degree sensitivity range. lt detects motion up to 70 feet away, and the light timer and motion sensitivity are both adjustable. When motion is detected, it will turn on any light you have plugged in to the receiver and will also trigger an alert tone (the volume is adjustable, and you can deactivate the tone with a manual override). For use with incandescent lights of up to 300 watts. Note that the receiver requires two AA batteries (not included).

* Great product ...
We bought one to light the wood box room, because it's hard to switch the lights on/off with an arm load of wood. It was easy to install and worked perfectly. We bought 3 more to place around the compound. I like the fact that it uses lamps, because I can match the decor of the house, not to mention NO hard wiring! We have them set for one minute, the sensor knows if we stay in the room. It saves us money, because the kids no longer leave the lights on all over the house. I have recommended this product to my friends and family.

* puts the B S in BoguS ...
be warned: "up to 100 feet" transmission distance REALLY MEANS you'll be lucky to get barely 10' unimpeded/uninterrupted line-of-sight bet. receiver & transmitter. It passes the legal test, because, after all, 10' is "up to 100'." Further, while manu advertises that you can set the time the plugged-in device remains on, neither the 1 min nor 5 min settings actually work, and only the "test" mode actually works as designed. The problem: it won't continually operate in test mode, so you have to select the 1 or 5 minute option, which makes it essentially useless. And yes, while there are frequency settings that may help, unless you're in a totally rural environment, with no EMF or similar wireless signals from other (or others') devices, changing the device's frequency settings will only aggravate you even more. Do yourself a BIG favor: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT !!!

* Only game in town ...
After spending many hours searching for a motion detector that could be used with a lamp, I purchased this one. The need was very specific - the lamp needed to turn on from the motion of a small dog. This is the only motion sensor that looks down and out. The product does work as advertised and we feel we got our money's worth. It doesn't get more than three stars because:
- It has virtually no instructions for use. Frankly, it was pretty self-explanatory, but instructions, particularly troubleshooting would have been helpful. It took two or three days of playing around intermittently to get it properly set up.
- This product is controlled by radio frequency. Other things in my home (TV remote and garage door opener) triggered the light. Once turned on or off by these other devices, it wouldn't work again via motion detector, leaving the light permanently on or off. Changing the radio frequency solved the problem. There are four small numbered switches in both sides of the unit. By experimenting, we now have it set to two up and two down, so no more interference problems (again, instructions would have been nice).
- The motion sensor unit is designed to mount onto something and not just sit on a shelf or something; the bottom is curved. The mount is attached to the back of the unit and is not removable. The motion sensor itself is a bit horsey anyway - 3"x3"x3", but including the mounting bracket is 4 1/2 " deep. The unit is not designed to just sit on a shelf or something,
- Lastly, the part that plugs into the wall is so big that it covers up the lower plug and then some. If you have another big plug, you'll need a power strip because they both won't fit into a standard wall outlet.
