0ur opinion:

:
Compact and unobtrusive, the Honeywell HWM255 quietly humidifies a room with an area of up to 350 square feet, providing comfort in very dry environments. Geared to provide up to 3 gallons of daily output, the tank itself holds about 1-1/2 gallons of water. This helps keep the unit size relatively compact so you can conveniently place the HWM255 virtually anywhere in your room. A built-in humidostat advises how much moisture has been emitted. There's also a built-in timer so the machine only works when you need it, great for maximizing comfort and saving energy. Auto Shut 0ff turns the device off when out of water. Honeywell's EZ-Care system makes filling and emptying really simple. The water tank is dishwasher safe for quick and thorough cleaning. Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Excellent Purchase! ...
I have had no complaints about this humidifier. It is easy to set up, use, and clean. My sinus problems have decreased by at least 60% since I started using this product. I'm pregnant and cannot use drugs like Sudafed to decrease congestion so this humidifier has been a lifesaver.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - still working perfectly after 5 years!
I bought my machine 5 years ago, and used it daily throughout the winter heating seasons. I loved the fact that I could set humidity, and the water in the tank is more than enough to last the whole night (I set humidity to 50). It has been a miracle worker for my dry skins. I no longer have dry patches.

It has been easy to clean (I clean it once every 3 weeks. I am very busy, so I don't clean as often as I should). And it works as well today as it did 5 years ago. I loved it so much that I immediately recommended it to my friends after 1 month's usage. They bought it 5 years ago, and their machines are working perfectly today.

I never bothered to review this machine until I saw quite a few people said that their mahcine broke quickly. I want to point out that those people whose machine worked well for many years probably didn't bother to write a review for an old product because it was bought too long ago and they considered it quite normal for the machine to work (nothing to write about). The people whose machine broke quickly will almost always submit a review to express their dissatisfaction. Online reviews are almost never representative of the whole spectrum of opinions. The people who are very dissatisfied are almost always over-represented. So keep that in mind when you read reviews. I am happy with my machine, but I don't know how reliable this brand is overall or if there is any change in management or quality control in recent years.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - * the humidifier humidifies ...
I am pleased with my HWM255. My unit does it's job for me.
1) I've used it for a few years now and it hasn't broken down.
2) The tank is large enough to run overnight without need to refill.
3) The low setting is just right in keeping my room humidity up.
4) Low maintenance. I rarely clean it and no slime or whatever has come. I also rarely clean the element too. Still works fine. I am surprized others call it high maintenance.
5) Steam! no fan needed so it is very quiet - no problems sleeping with it on. Also, steam is more sanitary than other types.
6) Shuts-off automatically when water runs out.

However, i only give it 4 stars as a recommendation to others because:
7) the humidity reader/display never worked correctly. I personally don't care that it doesn't work. However, if someone decides to buy because of that function, they will be disappointed. I may be fortunate that the low setting works well for me so i don't need it to manage the humidity for me.

Buyer's feedback: 2 out of 5 stars - Great when it works, did not last past 2 years!
When it worked, and I had this for just under 2 years, it was great, the steam was nice, I used it to steam up my bathroom and my face, but when it stopped working (I think the fuse popped), I was so disheartened. I really expected a nice Honeywell product to last longer. Will not buy this again. Two years not long enough!

Buyer's feedback: 2 out of 5 stars - * Inaccurate humidistat ...
On the plus side, the unit is easy to clean (I use filtered water, which minimizes mineral buildup). The humidistat, however, does not work properly, so that I find myself waking up drenched in sweat -- I have it set for 60%, but it will get up to 75% or more before it cuts off. Just a while ago, it was reading 45%, while it was actually 70% in the room, so the problem appears to be getting worse. I really don't appreciate having the choice of being kept awake by my dried-out sinuses, or being tortured with excess humidity, so I am shopping for another machine.

It's a measure of the ongoing popularity of Karen and Richard Carpenter that the 2002 release of this video collection in DVD format comes nearly 20 years after Karen's death. The duo's heyday mostly preceded the MTV age, so this 15-song, 55-minute anthology is a bit of a visual hodgepodge, composed of still photos, footage from TV shows and concerts, promo clips, fleeting attempts at conceptual videos, and other weirdness (film of Carpenters albums being pressed on the assembly line? Hey, whatever). You'll see an array of bad haircuts and outfits and a whole lot of lip-syncing, but in the end, it's the music that counts. And the Carpenters' signature sound, with its brilliant arrangements, its lush harmonies, and Karen's exquisite alto voice, was easy-listening pop at its finest. If nothing else, Carpenters: Gold offers another chance to hear that music in all its glory. --Sam Graham

With a gentle tug at the heartstrings, Evelyn tells the true story of an imperfect father whose devotion brought much-needed change to rigid Irish law. It's a labor of love for star and coproducer Pierce Brosnan, who brings just the right touch of Everyman charm to his role as Desmond Doyle, a struggling Dublin tradesman, father of three, and chronic pub-crawler whose wife abandons their family the day after Christmas, 1953. Desmond's a loving father who's boyishly irresponsible; Irish law dictates the removal of his children to stern Catholic orphanages, and his battle for custody is aided by two lawyers (Stephen Rea, Aidan Quinn) who seize this opportunity to revolutionize the courts. With straightforward, unobtrusive style, director Bruce Beresford draws fine performances from Brosnan, Julianna Margulies (as a barmaid who inspires Desmond's sobriety), and especially young Sophie Vavasseur in the title role as Desmond's bright, determined daughter. Sentimental without being saccharine, Evelyn is simple, well made, and bursting with genuine Irish spirit. --Jeff Shannon

Few would accuse Fantasia of a reluctance to abide by the wisdom that what you've got, you should flaunt, and the vocal gusto she slathers over her full-length debut gets partial credit for earning--and keeping--your attention. To a greater extent, though, the high-wattage help heaped over the Idol 3 champ and Patti LaBelle-sound-alike makes the disc dazzle. In addition to pitch-ins from Missy Elliott, who produced and co-wrote three tracks and busts out a two-snaps-up rhyme on "Selfish (I Want U 2 Myself)," Jazze Pha duets on the ultra-mod "Don't Act Right" and Jermaine Dupri wrote and produced the smolderer "Got Me Waiting." Surprisingly, though, it's not those tracks or even the Idol-propelled cover of the Gershwins' "Summertime" that will stick with listeners most. Instead, first single "Truth Is," a sweet, old-school R&B lament directed toward a lost love, and "Baby Mama," a spirited shout-out to hard-working single mothers, snare standout status with their from-the-gut authenticity. Keeping it real is what won Fantasia the hearts of millions on TV, and despite Free Yourself's likable slickness, it convinces that--hot commodity or no--she's not about to forget it. -Tammy La Gorce
