Review:
For arid climates or the dry cold days of winter, running a steam humidifier indoors often protects the inhabitants' skin from chapping or itching, allows stressed lungs to breathe with comfort, and infuses moisture into the room to the benefit wooden furniture, upholstery, and houseplants to prevent them from becoming brittle or parched. Honeywell created their Quick Steam Warm Moisture Humidifier for all of these purposes and more, enhancing a room's humidity in record speed.

Best suited for rooms up to 1400 square feet in size, the humidifier's heater is crafted in stainless steel for quick heat production and trouble-free cleaning. The compact humidifier outputs 4 gallons of warm steam for each full tank of water. This humidifier offers users a timer function for running the unit for preset periods, ranging from an hour to the maximum 18-hour setting. Digital controls and the easy-to-read LCD screen enable users to alter or monitor current preference settings. A medicine cup allows users to run the humidifier as a vaporizer for stuffed noses, sore throats and other respiratory illnesses. An automatic shutdown feature reduces safety hazards. Humidifier water should be changed frequently and the tank washed well each week to prevent bacteria, mold, and other impurities from developing, though the heating process should kill many of these unhealthy particles. As with any electrical home device, read all manufacturer guidelines and instructions prior to use. This humidifier measures 15.55 by 14.57 by 10.24 inches and weighs 6 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Testimonials

Buyer's feedback: 3 out of 5 stars - * Good but requires lots of maintenence ...
This thing does the job. I'm humidified. However, it has lots of parts that all require cleaning every couple of weeks. There is also a filter disk that needs to be changed semi-regularly. Maybe this is standard for humidifiers, but at any rate, it's a slight bummer.

I should also note that, the description is a bit misleading. It doesn't contain 4 gallons of water, it outputs up to 4 gallons of water in a day. The tank is closer to 2 gallons.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - Very nice
This is my third humidifier in two seasons. I couldn't live with the noise of the cool-mist humidifiers!

For the price it works very nicely even for relatively large sized rooms. Scale is an issue, and the mineral pads help (which by the way are quite cheap), but I still had to hookup a wire brush with my dremel to scrub the scale away every weekend. I guess you can't get a good humidifer without any issues (noise, mold, white dust, scale etc). For me, this worked out the best among all options.

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - * Terrible Product ...
I have owned two of these over the last year and they both broke through normal use. The problems occur in the electronics. Try a different brand -- these are a waste of money.

Buyer's feedback: 2 out of 5 stars - Excellent--when it works!
I used this humidifier for a little less than a month when it just stopped working. Amazon was excellent in replacing it immediately; however, the replacement worked for approximately two months. It also just stopped working. Amazon wouldn't replace it a second time and actually sent me an e-mail saying they are experiencing too many problems with this humidifier. Honeywell replaced it for me; I can't say how well the 3rd one works as I haven't used it yet since the winter months are over. I love this humidifier when it works; but unfortunately, that only happens for a very short period of time from my experience. There is some inherent problem with this product; although I asked Honeywell about their experience with returns and what kind of problem it has, I never did get an answer. I would love to recommend this product, but I can't as there is no longevity to it all.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * The product is really useful in cool weather ...
I really like to use this product. It gives double benefits. First, I makes the room moisture and warmer, secondly it minimizes the chance of getting influenza (caused by the warm moist)

Usually we're fans of Logitech's gaming mice, but its highest-end G9 Laser Mouse is expensive, overly complex, and lacks the ergonomic thought we've come to expect. If you like to brag about dot-per-inch limits, perhaps the G9's 3,200dpi laser will be enough to sell you, but for the price, we expect the design to match.

Small and light enough for a shirt pocket, Samsung's Helix YX-M1 is a one-stop audio entertainment center with an XM radio, a digital music player, and room for 50 hours of tunes, but it comes up short on battery life.

You can say this about D.E.B.S.: director Angela Robinson’s 2005 feature isn’t very good, but it is surprisingly entertaining. The premise, which bears a passing resemblance to any number of previous films (from Heathers and Clueless to Charlie’s Angels and the Austin Powers franchise), involves a secret government agency recruiting young women as spies, based on their smarts, their ability to lie convincingly, and the fact that they look fetching in ultra-miniskirts. Four of the D.E.B.S. are then charged with collaring "criminal mastermind" Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster), who has returned to the States after hatching all manner of nefarious plots overseas. Then comes the twist: Diamond is gay, and one of our heroines, Amy Bradshaw (Sara Foster), unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with her. Out goes the espionage element; in comes the love story, and therein lies the surprise, as this burgeoning lesbian relationship is handled with unexpected sympathy, even tenderness. Sure, the acting, even by veteran grownups like Holland Taylor and Michael Clarke Duncan, is almost uniformly lame, and the script is silly; overall, the film would have to put on considerable weight to even be considered frothy. Still, D.E.B.S. isn’t a bad way to kill a couple of hours. DVD bonus features include a making-of featurette and commentary by Robinson and the cast. --Sam Graham

The teaming of Johnny Knoxville (Jackass: The Movie) and Seann William Scott (Dude, Where's My Car?) as well as the presence of the '70s-flavored car chases that were a specialty of the TV series guarantees that The Dukes of Hazzard will be even more lowbrow than the CBS TV series (1979-85) that inspired it. However, this brain-damaging comedy is more "rehash" than "remake," as good ol' Georgiaboys Luke Duke (Knoxville) and his cousin Bo (Scott) are frequently upstaged bythe General Lee, the Confederate-flagged '69 Charger that they drive, jump, race, and fly in as they smuggle moonshine for their Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson). Meanwhile, cousin Daisy Duke (Jessica Simpson) is reliably available to model her short-shorts (aka "Daisy Dukes") and awesome figure (and let's face it, Simpson's talents pretty much begin and end right there), while corrupt honcho Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds, who should know better) recruits a local NASCAR star to advance his wily scheme of converting Hazzard County into a strip mine. Director Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers) manages to mine some good-natured humor from the movie's oval-track detour and a few colorful supporting players (notably Kevin Hefferman as the Duke's pal Sheev). Otherwise, consider yourself warned: The Dukes of Hazzard is shameless Hollywood product at its most forgettable, trafficking in shameless white, rural Southern stereotypes. If you can make itto the end, there's a blooper reel to reward your endurance. --Jeff Shannon

DVD features
Yes, the unrated edition of The Dukes of Hazzard has nudity... but no, it's not of Jessica Simpson, but topless sorority girls. There are also two sets--"PG-13" and "unrated"--of deleted scenes and bloopers. The four minutes of unrated deleted scenes (supplementing the 25 minutes of "PG-13" deleted scenes) include more sorority girls and a menage à trois for Johnny Knoxville . The five minutes of unrated bloopers (the same amount as the "PG-13" bloopers) feature a few more girls but mostly bad language. Featurettes discuss the Daisy Duke short shorts (and show how you can make your own), car stunts, and the making of the movie (narrated by a cast member of the original TV series). --David Horiuchi
