:
As the familiar saying goes, 'Anything worth doing is worth doing well.' Jensen's 74-year tradition of following this basic-but-true wisdom gives the new JS800 a competitive edge that's obvious upon listening. Solid engineering and a high-impact bass response team up for a subwoofer that offers big bass satisfaction in a wide variety of listening environments. The perfect complement to your sound system with 100 watts RMS, the JS800 features a heavy-duty acoustic suspension woofer in a space-conscious cube cabinet - all at a budget-conscious price.

:
Accent your music or enhance your movies with powerful, 100 watts RMS bass from Jensen's JS800 subwoofer. The speaker features an 8-inch cone woofer, a heavy-duty acoustic suspension woofer in a space-conscious cube cabinet, all at a budget-conscious price. Speaker-level inputs and outputs let you put it inline with your speakers (for stereo or home theater), while a line-level input is perfect for explicit use as the '.1' LFE (low-frequency effects) channel in a 5.1 surround setup.

When used in conjunction with smaller, bookshelf-type speakers, the subwoofer extends system capability to full-range frequency response, down to a respectable 30 Hz. With larger, floorstanding speakers, the sub helps shoulder the burden of reproducing low-frequency information.

lt's not video shielded, so don't place it too close to a TV or computer monitor. lf it's on the floor, though, it'll likely be far enough from your screen to negate any video distortion that might otherwise result from the speaker's magnet being too close to a monitor. A sleep circuit saves power by switching the sub to standby when no signal is present.

Buyer's feedback: 3 out of 5 stars - * Unleash the power ...
Ok I bought this Jensen sub a few months back now, but as it is only an 8inch it wasnt quite enough bass for me. I needed to fix this problem. I though gee this is a power amp right, if i want more bass i need a bigger sub but could not afford these. So in order to fix this problem I had a 10inch Pyramid car subwoofer that i had picked up at london drugs for 30 bucks canadian and I had a sealed box laying around for that as well. I installed the 10 in the new box, I then removed the 8 inch from the jensen box took the wires off of the sub and then added more wire onto the lead to reach the 10 inch box and plugged it in bass had been doubled and then some. That still was not enough. I proceeded to go out and buy a 12inch bandpass car subwoofer box($100cdn)and then a Clarion SRW1243 12" SINGLE VOICE COIL SUBWOOFER($89cdn) WOW I can not beleive the sound from this!!!!!!!!!!!!! It performs the equivelent of any 800 to 1000 dollar powered woofer.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - Good sub for 50 bucks!
Yes, this sub does not have the best features or engineering when compared to JBL or Bose (for those of us in the mid-market range), however, for 50 bucks I couldn't be more happier. The 8 inch cone distorts at higher gain (when the dial in the back of the sub is set to "max"), so the frequency response when the volume is jacked up isn't great.

However, if the dial is kept in the middle, and when paired up with decent front speakers, this sub can really drill the LFE's. I almost crapped in my pants when i played Armageddon on DVD. I use a Yamaha receiver with Sony DVD player. I didn't feel like spending 200 bucks on an 8 inch driver, so i took a chance and I'm perfectly happy with the Jensen JS800. I know i can't overwork it or i'll blow the cone, but in an average size room paired with good speakers, this things is worth every penny. i purchased it form J&R for 50 bucks, free shipping and used Monster's 16 foot subwoofer cable to hook it up.

The black cabinet looks good, it doesn't take up a lot of space, and its amplified at 100 watts RMS. it was a great deal.

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
