Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Seems to work well! ...
I recently picked this unit up at Bed and Bath where it was $99.00. With a 20% coupon the price was $80 (so comparison shop!) It's easy to use and seems to work well. I agree with other reviewers about the noise level (loud like a tea kettle boiling), but I use this unit in the living room area so sleeping is not an issue. Having the 2 separate water reservoirs to fill is much easier, weight-wise, as I previously had another humidifier which had one large water reservoir and it was very heavy when full. The unit comes apart quite easily for cleaning and since frequent cleaning is recommended (I usually do it 1x per week, not daily) this is a definite plus. Additionally, one only needs to use vinegar to clean the inside reservoir, which is a lot cheaper than having to buy some kind of "special" cleaning solution. My one complaint is that it doesn't, but should, have an automatic shut off when both tanks are empty.I have to remember to turn the unit off when I leave the house. My previous humidifiers all had this auto turn off; seems like every humidifier should. (PS - I gave this product 5 stars initially, but hadn't at the time realized that it had no auto shut off. I would have reduced the review to 4 stars because of that, but seems like one can't go and revise the number of stars previously assigned - ? So **** (stars) on this unit.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - Best yet!
I purchased the EWM-220 2 years ago and can truly say that it is still functioning great. With just a little care in cleaning the unit, it will last for many years unlike all the other brands that I had purchased in the past. As far as noise, if a little bubbling sound bothers you, then maybe you have too much time on your hands to complain. I'm sold on this unit and would recommend it to anyone.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - * Works very well, but noisy ...
I bought the EMW-220 last year after being unhappy with the cool mist humidifier I already owned. The results from this unit are much more noticable. You can easily tell it's working when entering a room in which it's running. And medicine cup is a terrific feature and helps immensely when you're congested.

I am disappointed in the noise from this unit. There is a recurrent sound like boiling water. If the sound was constant, you may be able to get used to it and ignore it. However, since it's cyclical, it's very annoying (especially to light sleeper like myself).

Despite the noise, this is an effective product and worth the price.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - Buying a humidifier? Buy a hygrometer as well.
I basically agree with Venkat's (a previous reviewer's) assessment of the Enviracaire EWM 220. I've had mine for a couple of months and just ordered a second one for my parents. I use mine to humidify my entire house - about 1200 to 1500 square feet. This means that you don't need to have this unit in the same room that you are in to feel its effects, which would obviously diminish or eliminate the noise issue.

Speaking of noise, the previous reviewer is correct - there is a distinct noise. However, setting the unit on low (or - obviously - turning it off occasionally) helps. This brings me to my main point. Anyone buying a humidifier, should also buy a good hygrometer [...] The products from Conant Custom Brass are beautiful, high-quality, and made in the U.S. (I looked for a humidifier made in the U.S., Canada or Europe, but failed to find anything nice). As I understand it, one should keep (absolute) humidity levels at about 40-50%. For environmental and financial reasons, I keep levels in my home at around 40. I can do this since I have my handy Conant hygrometer. So, with a good hygrometer A.) you have to fill the unit less often, B.) the unit (and UV bulb) should last longer, C.) you save energy, and D.) you have to clean the unit less often.

In a perfect world, I would own a humidifier (not made in China) that would adjust (i.e., turn on and off) according to the absolute humidity levels that it would monitor; this unit doesn't do that.

Also, FYI: my seller (iAllergy) told me that I could just throw away those funny little mineral absorption pads (one less replacement part to buy).

Finally, I use only filtered water (no chlorine, etc.) in my unit, HOPING that this will keep the unit (and my house air) cleaner.

Buyer's feedback: 3 out of 5 stars - * Review of Venta VS207 vs Venta 370 vs Enviracaire EWM-220 ...
I recently purchased three different humidifiers (Venta 370 @$200, Venta VS207 @$100 and Enviracaire EWM-220 @$90) for various rooms in our house. Below are pros and cons of each of these three units:

VENTA 370:
Pros: Quiet operation - perfect for bedrooms, vaporizes tank contents in approx 24 hours to provide ideal humidity, flexibility of cool or warm mist operation
Cons: Leaves a white dust like residue on objects nearby(perhaps an unwanted side effect of ultrasonic vaporization), Expensive $$$, Heavy on refill.

VENTA VS207:
Pros: Quiet operation (like Venta 370), vaporizes tank contents in approx 24 hours, Significantly less expensive than VS370 for comparable performance, Has cool vs warm mist options.
Cons: Heavy on refill, No handles for convenient handling during refill. Leaves a white dust like residue on objects nearby.

ENVIRACAIRE EWM-220:
Pros: Two separate water containers with side handles - convenient to refill water, Vaporizes both tank contents in approx 24 hours, UV light and boiling supposedly destroys germs/microbes in water (can't verify manufacturer's claim).
Cons: Noisy (continuous sound of boiling water from the unit - feels like I am sleeping with a kettle on the stove nearby) - I kind of got used to it after a while, but may be a problem for light sleepers. Unit warns of hot steam emanating from the unit - can potentially be hazardous with little kids in the house.

Overall, for price and performance, the Venta VS207 is the best product. Only wish it had more convenient carrying handles.

There are but two kinds of people in the world: Those captivated by Baz Luhrmann's heady, postmodernist musical romp Moulin Rouge--and everybody else. Oddly, the film's initial soundtrack release may have been the project's most traditional element, marketing a slate of pop-star contributions that gave listeners a sometimes-skewed perspective on its true musical charms. This follow-up corrects much of that oversight, offering original film versions of "Sparkling Diamonds" (the lavish, Nicole Kidman-performed medley of "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" and "Material Girl"), Jim Broadbent's and Richard Roxburgh's loopy take on "Like a Virgin," as well as the lively Offenbach "Can Can" parody "The Pitch (Spectacular Spectacular)." It also pays homage to the efforts of composer Craig Armstrong, whose quietly compelling underscore often binds the film's other far-flung musical influences together, be they stately orchestral readings of Elton John's "Your Song," a dramatic arrangement for Kidman and Ewan MacGregor's original film duet of "Come What May," or his dark, melodramatic take on Queen's "The Show Must Go On." The first Moulin Rouge soundtrack collection flaunted the film's bold, cross-genre ambitions; this one chronicles its nakedly emotional heart and soul. --Jerry McCulley

It would be easy to dismiss Kelly Osbourne's musical ambitions based on 1) Her royally obnoxious behavior on the family's MTV reality series, 2) Her overly manufactured debut album, Shut Up, and 3) That voice, which up until now, sounded like cats on a chalkboard. But spare a moment for the bratty singer's follow-up effort, a remarkably faithful new-wave throwback, which generously references everyone from Duran Duran to Missing Persons. Producer Linda Perry not only effectively revives the dramatic sounds and melodies of the era but offers songs that perfectly suit Osbourne's, er, constrained vocal range. The resulting disc is full of guilty pleasures like "Uh Oh" and "Redlight," tunes that should strike a chord with anyone that still gets a thrill out of happening upon basic cable reruns of "Sixteen Candles." --Aidin Vaziri
