Kingston's DT400 is preloaded with MigoSync software, and features a capless design for added functionality and ease of use. The MigoSync software lets you synchronize your files, email and lnternet browser settings on your DT400. * Works on XP and Vista, nice 'n quick, smart elegant design ...
This is the classic-sized USB jumpdrive, small enough to tuck away but big enough to make it hard to lose.
It's self-installed on both XP Pro and Vista Home Premium for me. The little Secure Partitioning/password tool is easy to use and set up. You could easily offload the included software and reformat the drive for a bit more space.
Read and write seem to move along at a good speed, and there is a very cool rectangular blue LED that shines through the pivoted cover when the drive is working, and that's a handy feature.
Speaking of the cover: the cover pivots with just enough friction to not flop around, but is easy to rotate 180 degrees for use, or back again to protect the USB contacts. No cap to get lost or worry about, a very nice design answer to that common problem.
It's good looking, and the 4GB capacity is large enough for real work. There's a little mini-keyring and looped lanyard you can hook to one end of the cover through a couple small holes. It's a little difficult to attach but you'll only have to do that once. The lanyard seems to be one of those ultra-strong weaved nylon lines like fishing reel leader material.
At this price they're inexpensive as gifts and something a commuting computer user will use for quite some time.
