Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great fit ...
I thought the shoes would be a little bit "softer", they have a hard mat'l insert on the heel portion which caused me to break them in for a week or two but after that they fit like gloves. I assume the heel design provides support for hiking. At any rate they fit great but I would give yourself a week of wearing them around town before heading out on a day long trail hike.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - Comfortable Durability
I purchase this product several weeks ago and I love the way these shoes felt out of the box. They felt like they were already broken in and no worries of laces coming undone because they have their own lacing system built in. The Price is a little steep that the only reason these shoes didn't get a five.

Alboogie

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great shoe ...
I have bought this model of Merrell shoe for 3 years in a row. This summer I detailed cars, using harsh chemicals and acids to do exteriors. After a whole summer of this these shoes still held up and look decent. I even wore them roofing 50sq on a 10/5 pitch and they kept me on the roof. Great for hiking and with a little water proofing spray they keep the moisture out in the summer and ankle deep in the snow in winter. Great shoes, and I will continue to buy them.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome Hiking Shoes!
I just got back from Colorado where some buddies and I climbed Long's Peak! These are the shoes I wore for the 14 mile hike. They were super comfortable! I wore them with Smartwool socks (a must)! The one thing that surprised me most about these shoes was their grip. Me and another guy wore these while 2 of my other buddies wore hiking boots. These were far superior in grip and weight. They were never cumbersome nor did I ever have to worry about them coming untied! Once tightened - they're tight. I recommend Merrell Chameleon II Stretch's to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIVE STARS!

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Merrell for LIfe ...
I've been looking for a brand of shoe that I could stick with. I work in a pretty casual environment and I wanted something that would be comfortable with lots of cushioning, look good with jeans, be very easy to get on and off when I'm going through airport security, durable, not too trendy but not too boring, etc. I found these on a whim and bought them because they looked kind of futuristic and cool. I've been wearing the Merrell Chameleon II Stretch for over six months now and other then a few scuffs they still look brand new. I do a lot of walking around the office and around downtown and my feet don't bother me nearly as much as when I'd wear other shoes (i.e. Nike 360s). I think it's fair to say that I'm so impressed with these shoes that I'll be sticking with Merrell as a brand for quite some time.

One of the most unjustly underrated Italian operas receives a production that should help correct that attitude. Andrea Chenier is based on the true story of a poet who was caught up and destroyed by the blind fury of the French Revolution. Giordano's music captures the acrid flavor of that movement, the cynicism of some of its leaders, and Chenier's integrity and tragic fate. This production's value has probably increased since Plácido Domingo, the leading Chenier of his generation, has dropped the role from his repertoire.

All three principals sing eloquently and with a fine sense of the opera's structure and context. Anna Tomowa-Sintow is in even better voice than Domingo, and Giorgio Zancanaro heads an expert supporting cast. The Covent Garden Chorus, directed with distinction by Michael Hampe, gives a memorable impression of the revolutionary mob. Julius Rudel's conducting is totally idiomatic. --Joe McLellan

It would have been better, of course, if this 1984 production of Donizetti's Anna Bolena, or at least its title role, had been filmed 20 years earlier, when Joan Sutherland's voice was in its spectacular prime. But like her Canadian Opera Norma, dating from 1981, this is a better-late-than-never documentation of one of the most remarkable voices of the 20th century.

Lotfi Mansouri spared no effort or expense in making this production special. He personally directed the staging, and handpicked an outstanding cast (right down to the very young and then-unknown Ben Heppner in the small role of Hervey). The visual elements--sets, costumes, and camera work--are also handled with great care, and Sutherland's positive response to this dedication can be sensed in her performance as the unfortunate wife of King Henry VIII. James Morris is best-known as a Wagnerian singer--perhaps the leading Wotan of our time--but he is equally at home in many of the villainous roles that are the fate of bass- baritones (Iago, Scarpia, Don Giovanni). In this sinister tale of an innocent woman ruthlessly destroyed, he shows a surprising knack for the bel canto style. Judith Forst is also excellent in the role of Jane Seymour. --Joe McLellan
