* does the job ...
We purchased the phone because we live in Italy and our only home phone is with Skype. Before that, we had a hard time getting to the computer to plug in the headset if we had an incoming call. This has worked pretty well. The sound quality on our end has been good, but some people have said it was not always good on their end. Still, if you use Skype a lot and don't want to be tied to the computer, this is a good deal.

I am happy with this product
When I read all the reviews, I was very much concerned that this product was not going to meet my needs. But after 3 weeks, my wife and I are very happy with the product.
It was easy to set up although I was not sure I was having success when following the instructions, and generally works well. I think being an existing Skype user was helpful to understand how the phone works. We have had days were the connection to imternet was lost several times, but I have no way to know if this was the phone or the ISP connection.
We have had 2+ hour clear phone calls to China as well as good call quality to Australia and many places in US. We use it both to talk to other Skype users as well as to landlines.
I took the phone on a trip and was successful 80% of the time to join WiFi networks. Some were secure where I knew the codes to access.
So far the negative is poor battery life compared to our cell phones and it takes a few hours to fully recharge.
I have told some collegaues to look at this as an option for their travel needs.

* Better have a great WIFI signal ...
Works well in good WIFI signal areas. Doesn't hop WIFI access points well. Works well when it has a great signal. I expect it would work well in a home as a replacmeent for a house phone. Skype has a lot of nice features.

Marginal at best
Connects to a very limited number of wireless routes ( impossible with newest Apple Airport Extreme) fine with older one
No range; looses signal if more than 20 feet away
Battery died after 2 months
Software badly needs an upgrade
Not worth the $ and time

* SPH200W with Linksys WRT54G2 Router ...
I bought this here just got last week. It works well under wireless connection(WEP) on campus as well as with my router, Linksys WRT54G2(WPA2) at home. actually, It delivered to school so tried to use it connected to campus wireless LAN. I was little bit worried but it worked better than expected. I made a call to my sister over the Pacific, voice quality was good and also my sister said it's good like a local call. and i took this phone home and tried to get connected to my router. WPA2 didn't matter. when I powered the phone, automatically it found and showed available wireless connections, then i chose to connect and type password. that's it.
very easy to use. cheaper way to have a phone line at home.
