Testimonials

Buyer's feedback: 3 out of 5 stars - * Nice out door camera but! ...
It is a very nice camera. It's small and neat and easy to use. It is up and ready to take a photo in seconds, which is one thing that I wanted in a camera and ready to take another photo if you miss the first shot. But the images just do not cut it for indoor usage. Outdoors they look very good and clean but indoors they get very grainy. They look good on the LCD before and after, but once you take them off you see the true quality.
If they just fix that problem this would stand on top all the rest.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - Love it
I really like this camera. If I search really hard my only complaint would be that the video doesn't zoom. But I don't know if any camera does that.
I DO recommend buying this camera from AMAZON.COM. It is MUCH cheaper than best buy or ciruit city.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - * Olympus Stylus 1010 10.1 MP Digital Camera ...
I love the camera but it is not the easiest to use. I still need to figure out the red eye thing.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - Big Produxt in a small package
I picked this camera out for my birthday. It is wonderful! The pictures are clear and sharp,no matter how much they are enlarged. The 7x zoom allowed me to take great videos from 20 rows up at a recent sporting event. I wish the sound was a little louder, but when you download to a computer, it is easily adjusted. The scene selector is fantastic, just select what you want to photograph, push OK, and click! I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who wants a small compact camera loaded with features. Worth every penny.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - * Love the camera but miss the date stamp ...
I chose this camera based on its small size, high megapixel, and high zoom capabilities but will be returning it due to the missing and very important date stamp. I am using the camera to take pictures of my growing child, and need to be able to look back and know the precise date the picture was taken. Otherwise, I LOVE this camera, it takes nice, clear pictures, is easy to use (once I read the manual cover to cover), was reasonably priced, is cute, fits nicely in my purse for those spontaneous hilarious moments kids seem to have, and perhaps most importantly, has an almost zero delay in taking the picture once you press the shutter button. (This last point was the reason I decided to upgrade from a Kodak EasyShare.)
All in all, I am VERY, VERY disappointed in Olympus' decision not to provide date (and less important to me, time) stamps with its cameras. It pains me to return this camera, but the stamp is just that important to me.

Joshua Logan's 1967 film of the hit Broadway musical about the love triangle between King Arthur (Richard Harris), Guenevere (Vanessa Redgrave), and Sir Lancelot (Franco Nero) is strong on star emphasis and weak on such fundamentals as story and sets. Except for a handful of solidly dramatic scenes--such as Guenevere grieving, late in the film, for the ruination she and Lancelot have caused--there's not a lot to get excited about. (The story's theme of a lost, great society, however, certainly struck a chord in the 1960s.) The Lerner-Loewe songs ("If Ever I Would Leave You," "Camelot") pretty much sell themselves, even if they are, at best, only proficiently performed in this movie. --Tom Keogh

"The book was better" has been the complaint of many a reader since the invention of movies. Frank Darabont's second adaptation of a Stephen King prison drama (The Shawshank Redemption was the first) is a very faithful adaptation of King's serial novel. In the middle of the Depression, Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) runs death row at Cold Mountain Penitentiary. Into this dreary world walks a mammoth prisoner, John Coffey (Michael Duncan) who, very slowly, reveals a special gift that will change the men working and dying (in the electric chair, masterfully and grippingly staged) on the mile . As with King's book, Darabont takes plenty of time to show us Edgecomb's world before delving into John Coffey's mystery. With Darabont's superior storytelling abilities, his touch for perfect casting, and a leisurely 188-minute running time, his movie brings to life nearly every character and scene from the novel. Darabont even improves the novel's two endings, creating a more emotionally satisfying experience. The running time may try patience, but those who want a story, as opposed to quick-fix entertainment, will be rewarded by this finely tailored tale. --Doug Thomas

On the DVD

Listen to our interview with Frank Darabont.
Anyone who has seen this Oscar-nominated film knows Frank Darabont likes to t-a-k-e h-i-s t-i-m-e. He certainly does the same in filling all three hours of his commentary track which he recorded over several sessions. Darabont has studied other DVDs and purposely does not repeat tidbits covered in the excellent new 90-minute documentary on author Stephen King and the making of the film. Other solid segments are two deleted scenes, a never-used teaser trailer, and Michael Duncan Clarke's screen test. The highlight is two remarkable tests of Tom Hanks in old-age makeup. Both are very credible, but it was decided to use another actor. The outcome is a DVD that puts the "special" back into the special edition. --Doug Thomas

When Roman tribune Marcellus Gallio (Richard Burton) is sent to Jerusalem, one of his assignments is the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Marcellus, a cynical and hardened man, wins the robe Jesus wore to the crucifixion while gambling with other Roman soldiers underneath the dying savior. He later becomes convinced that his hallucinations and violent outbursts are the result of a curse received from the robe, which is now in the possession of his escaped slave, Demetrius (Victor Mature), somewhere in the Middle East. He sets out to find Demetrius in order to destroy the robe and the curse and finds faith instead, converting to Christianity. This was the first movie to be filmed in CinemaScope, and won Oscars in 1953 for costume design, art direction, and set decoration. The visual aspects of the film are stunning, and it may be worth viewing for that alone; however, the script and acting leave much to be desired, and you won't find inspiration in these areas if that's what interests you. If, however, you are more interested in this film for its religious matter, the story of the conversion of the hardened Marcellus is inspiring. --James McGrath
