(KX-TG6313S) System Handset 3 - Phone Cordless Digital Expandable 6.0 Dect Panasonic

0ur opinion:

:
DECT 6.0 (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology lets you move freely around your home with long range and amazingly clear sound. lt also assures greater protection against eavesdropping for all your calls. 0perating in the 1.9GHz frequency range, your phone will not conflict with other wireless devices such as computer routers, wireless keyboards, microwave ovens and other common household devices. Now you can program each handset to ring - or not - at your discretion. Before going to sleep, simply set the bedside handset to night mode so that it won't ring in your bedroom. ln the meantime, the handset in the den will still ring when that important call comes in without disturbing the person who's sleeping. With three handsets included (one base and two chargers) and the option of adding up to three additional handsets - all while using only one base and one phone jack - go ahead and put one in the den, the kitchen, the master bedroom and the living room so you won't have to make a run for it when the phone rings.Don't miss important calls when the ringer is off. The light-up indicator with ringer alert at the base of the antenna will flash quickly to show that you have an incoming call, and it will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message. So turn off the ringer and never miss a call.

Testimonials
Average Buyer Rating: out of 5 stars

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - * Absolutely Useless ...
Bought these phones to add extra phones in the house. Completely useless. Can't get them to pick up when people call, can't get them to dial tone when wanting to place a call. Went through configuration and setup, no trouble shooting steps. Error says "no connection to base, reconnect AC adapter" Spend you money elsewhere.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Phones!
These are great phones for the price. They arrived quickly and programming them was very easy. However, I'm a little unhappy about not being able get a number from any of the phones caller ID if it is currently in use

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Better than expected ...
The Panasonic Dect 6.0, 3 handheld system works as advertised. Sound is fine with no iterference. The range is great, much better than expected from reading other reviews. The intercom is especially handy and easy to use. I like the voice mail indicators. If you don't need an answering machine, this is the way to go. I particularly like the fact that the rechargeable batteries are AAA, and easily available. Battery life is about one week before a recharge. I would definitely purchase it again.

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - Plagued by dropped calls
If you are going to buy a DECT phone (no matter which brand) I would suggest you be sure to purchase from a place that has a great return policy. This technology seems to work fine for some people, but unfortunately I have fallen into the sizable camp of people for whom it does not work. No matter where we place the base, we end up having calls get dropped - several times a day. It's very annoying and frustrating. I had this problem first with Panasonic's spiffy bluetooth compatible DECT model (KX-TH1212B). Thinking maybe it was the bluetooth part that was causing the dropped calls, I switched to this simpler model, the KX-TG6311. It too suffers from the dropped call syndrome. When it works, it's great. But when it drops a call, you want to throw it at the wall. Read the Amazon user reviews of the KX-TH1212B for more on this -- as of today, 21 of the 46 reviews give it one star, predominantly because of the dropped call issue. And Panasonic's customer service people are clueless about this.

Buyer's feedback: 2 out of 5 stars - * Panasonic KX-TG6313, Poor Address Book, Lock-up problems ...
Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone - 3 Handset System (KX-TG6313S)

Phone system was a pleasure to use at first, with initial address book setup, but in adding, modifying, or deleting addresses, many 'not-found' situations soon developed.

In addition, phones began to lockup when attempting to retrieve Voice Mail messages.

Removing all phones' batteries and recharging all phone simultaneously had no effect in resolving problems.

I would not purchase this phone again.

P.S. Best Buy would not accept return of electronics after 30-day period. Panasonic equipment is obtainable at Kmart and Target with 90-day return priviledge.

Avoid Best Buy's for electronics.

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.

This 44-minute musical Christmas movie finds Pooh, Tigger, Darby, and the rest of everyone's favorite characters from the Hundred Acre Wood enjoying a busy Christmas Eve filled with Christmas preparations and dreams about what they hope to receive from Santa. When Roo and Lumpy discover a fancy red bag in the snow and then stumble upon a young reindeer named Holly caught in a thicket, they find out that the bag they've found is Santa's magical toy sack and that without it, Santa may have to cancel Christmas. When Holly is unable to remember which direction leads home, Roo and Lumpy sound the super sleuth siren and the whole gang sets off for the North Pole to return Santa's bag. Using their knowledge of the North Star to guide them, the hopeful group makes their way toward the North Pole, but finds the road difficult and full of danger. Can the group make it to Santa in time to save Christmas by working together? Will their individual Christmas wishes ever come true? Bonus features include two episodes about friendship and teamwork ("Symphony for Rabbit" and "Tigger Goes Snowflakey") and the "Hundred Acre Wood Downhill Game" in which players pretend to ski down a hill and then interactively match presents with their intended recipients. Pooh Bear and his pals in the Hundred Acre Wood celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve in a pair of adventures folded into this 65-minute made-for-video feature. In the first, the silly old bear plays Saint Nick to his buddies ("I always thought he'd be taller") after failing to get an errant wish list off to Santa, while identity crisis strikes the gang in the second half. Piglet inherits Tigger's hop and jumps like a pogo stick, and Eeyore (dressed in Pooh's shirt) becomes a happy-go-lucky honey lover. Welcome to The Twilight Zone according to Winnie the Pooh. There's not much A.A. Milne in this TV-style holiday special, but it's a bouncy little production that should entertain the wee ones with its warm fuzzies, good company, slapstick energy, and life lessons. --Sean Axmaker
