* IPOD Adapter ...
This item was a perfect way to connect my IPOD to my car stero! I don't like the FM signal adapters because you have to sacrifice sound quality. This route allows for a digital signal, and all of my controls are on my on screen display. I dont have to touch the IPOD once it is connected. I love it!

Just an OK interface...
I purchased this interface with the Pioneer 5700 DVD. I am using the 5700 to control two MA amps, Boston Acoustics separates front and rear and an MA Subwoofer.
I have two iPods. An 80 GB 5th Gen with Video, and an 8 GB 2nd gen nano. When I use the 8 GB nano, the search function (scroll) on the touchscreen works OK - not screaming fast - but OK -...when I use the 80 GB iPod, the search function (scroll) is choppy at best. I imagine this is the difference between a hard drive unit (80 GB), and the flash memory unit (8 GB nano). This makes it very cumbersome to search through play lists. Not cumbersome enough to toss the whole thing out...but cumbersome.
In addition, I was surprised to find out that only songs on the iPod can be played back through the 5700. Why not video or pictures? It seems to me that if you are making an iPod INTERFACE...that the head unit (5700) attached to the interface would have the same capability as the iPod itself. - that was VERY disappointing. - if DVD's can be played through the head unit, why not videos off the iPod...or at least photos???
Although a bit slow, the interface does allow the user to search play lists, genre, artist, album, and so forth...
The interface does function - it just falls short of my expectations - thus the three star rating.

* don't buy this with an AVIC-D2 ...
I bought this unit for my Pioneer AVIC-D2. I had it in for about 2 weeks and got completely fed up with it. The interface is horrible [can only go next or previous, can't fast forward], and almost no information gets displayed (one line with only 8 characters or so). I took it out of the car and I bought an iPod to 3 RCA adaptor. (video, left and right audio) I connected that to my D2, and it is fantastic. The quality is just as good as through this CD-IB100II, but I have full control of my iPod, and in addition, I can play movies on the D2's screen.
Now this unit is back in it's box, but my return limit has just expired.. so I'm stuck with it.

Excellent product once you know the trick!
I just got my CD-IB100II and I was bummed when I found out that I couldn't control my iPod manually and how slow it is to control from the deck, but then I read the review by Daniel Lu and the trick he described to gain control of your iPod worked perfectly! It totally makes it worth buying now. Great sound quality + charging, can't beat it.
