The ScanGaugell is a 3-in-1 automotive computer that combines a multifunction trip computer, diagnostic scan tool, and up to 37 digital gauges in one small package. lt connects easily to your vehicle's 0n-Board Diagnostic (0BDll) port and communicates directly with the vehicle's computer. Not sure if your car uses 0BDll or Controller Area Network (CAN)? The unit will automatically determine which system to use and switch to it. The ScanGaugell works on all 1996 or newer 0BDll cars, including gas, diesel, propane and hybrid vehicles, as well as vehicles with the latest CAN systems. Expandable Add-A-Gauge Technology
The ScanGaugell has been redesigned with expandable Add-A-Gauge (aka XGauge) technology. Add to the original 12 gauges by customizing the ScanGaugell to monitor up to 25 more--depending on your specific vehicle's sensor design. Four gauges can be displayed simultaneously and can help determine fuel consumption rates, allowing you to adjust driving behavior and save gas. At the same time, keep an eye on coolant temperature, engine speed, and much more in real time. lf there is a young driver in the house or friends borrow your car, the ScanGaugell can record speeds of up to 158 mph and store the information for you to view later, so you will know just how fast your young driver or friend was going last night. lf the unit was disconnected, you'll know: An indicator will be displayed in the trip data.

Scan Tool
The ScanGaugell includes a diagnostic scan tool that can check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), clear the codes, and turn off the 'Check Engine' light on 99% of 1996 and newer vehicles. (However, this feature may not work on some trouble codes in Dodge vehicles.) lf any DTCs are found, the ScanGauge will show how many there are as well as the codes themselves. Then you can use the lnternet or repair manual to find out which is the failed part is, so you can repair it yourself or know what needs to be fixed at the mechanic's shop.

Multifunction Trip Computer
Four sets of data are automatically recorded on the trip computer: Current, Today, Previous Day, and Tank Trip. The 'current' trip restarts after the engine has been off for more than 3 minutes. The 'today' trip restarts after the vehicle has not moved for 9 hours, and the data from 'today' is moved to 'previous day' when you restart the car, so you don't have to reset the computer every time you begin a trip. 'Tank trip' resets when you fill up the tank. lt can provide you with 'to empty' data and other useful information, which can be viewed any time during the trip. The trip computer also integrates information from the Cost Per Mile gauge. Simply enter how much you paid per gallon or liter of fuel, and the ScanGauge will automatically calculate the cost of your trips as you drive. I have been watching this item for a while...and caught a great deal on it at Amazon. The day it arrived, I attached it to a Toyota and a Nissan and reset both check engine lights after reading the codes. Looking up the codes on the internet was a snap. I have since installed it in my new 2008 Toyota and enjoy seeing the accuracy of the display instead of watching the analog gauges.

The scan guage 11 does everything that it is supposed to. You get all kinds of info from this little box. It is easy to use, hides easy , and all the data that it tells you is outstanding. No regrets on my purchase.
I have already been offered my money back from one of my frends. He was very impressed with the scanguage 11.

You don't realize how much gas you waste if you aren't consciously aware of how you are driving. I was averaging about 28MPG before buying this gem. With this installed I have been watching how I drive and have been averaging about 32MPG. Wow what a difference! It has become somewhat of a game for me, since I have a fairly long commute, to see how much I can improve my mileage. It is kind of interesting finding out ways to get that extra bang for the buck.

I liked it so much I bought one for the wife's car as well. The OBDII scanner is also very handy. With it I was able to diagnose a couple of problems with our high mileage vehicle and make the repairs needed for over half off what the dealer would have charged. The XGuage feature is also very nice. Customize what you want to see.

I highly recommend this for anyone needing an OBDII scanner. I am not sure which is the icing on the cake the gauges or the OBDII scanner. This is a very useful product.
