Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Awesome device ...
I've been using this for my car and it works great. i hardly get any cut outs except in the hills. I have very Satisfied with this product

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - what a piece of crap !
Lets see, SUCTION mount does not hold on days that are too hot, too cold, too humid, too dry etc..(get the point ?) Plastic cradle corrodes and breaks. CHEAP magnetic antenna does not work worth a damn. Wire from antenna breaks after a couple months. And the best part of all, Sirius does NOT carry parts and you have to buy a NEW receiver and then go through customer service (and "hold" and "Hello" my name is "Bob"/Sanjay" etc) to get old receiver deleted and new receiver up and running...Sirius has made a few bucks and now they don't give a damn. Heck just listen to Stern. He and Robin GOT PAID and now just "phone it in"....They are boring...

Buyer's feedback: 2 out of 5 stars - * Same problem here.......... ...
I installed this system for a good cutomer of mine and experienced the same problem. After only several months the "antenna not detected" started up. Went with a Shakespear marine unit since it was going on the roof of an RV. I think they should supply the cradle and mount and let the customers choose whatever antenna their installation requires. I tried to mount the original antenna on the inside of the windshield with a suction mount I found. But with Sirius units the antenna really should be on the roof and the original antenna just can't take it.

Buyer's feedback: 2 out of 5 stars - Antenna corrodes
I have had the sportster replay installed in my explorer for about 7 months now, and a few weeks ago I had problems with my antenna. I kept getting antenna not detected errors, however sometimes the signal would come through very weakly. After checking the antenna I found that the plastic piece that connects to the magnetic antenna was very corroded. When I picked it up and played with it a little bit, pieces of the plastic began to flake off. It was pretty obvious that the connection wasn't going to be working properly like that. Sirius recommends that this antenna be installed on the roof of your car, it's even highly magnetized so it won't be blown off. It should be weatherproofed better.

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - * Be warned: designed to malfunction and Sirius will not honor the warranty. ...
Mine is only 5 months old, with 7 months remaining on an alleged 12 month warranty. Lasted 5 months then one day radio suddenly could no longer acquire a signal. Checked antenna connection on back of docking station - OK. Checked antenna wire for nicks, cuts or kinks - OK. Popped radio into another docking station and it had no trouble acquiring a signal. Finally, pried open back of antenna to have a look...completely corroded inside, no WAY it could be transmitting a signal to the docking station in that condition. Sirius recommends that the antenna is installed outside the vehicle for optimal reception (there is even a high-powered magnet on the bottom for this purpose) and then supplies you with an antenna that can't take more than 5 months of weather!

Contacted Sirius via phone and e-mail. Their final word after literally a WEEK of runaround: "Sorry, the warranty doesn't cover the antenna." They said they were "happy to help!" and directed me to a website where I can PURCHASE a new antenna at roughly the cost of a whole new docking station. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. Expect hassles, frustration and perpetual problem-ridden-equipment expenses.

One of the most unjustly underrated Italian operas receives a production that should help correct that attitude. Andrea Chenier is based on the true story of a poet who was caught up and destroyed by the blind fury of the French Revolution. Giordano's music captures the acrid flavor of that movement, the cynicism of some of its leaders, and Chenier's integrity and tragic fate. This production's value has probably increased since Plácido Domingo, the leading Chenier of his generation, has dropped the role from his repertoire.

All three principals sing eloquently and with a fine sense of the opera's structure and context. Anna Tomowa-Sintow is in even better voice than Domingo, and Giorgio Zancanaro heads an expert supporting cast. The Covent Garden Chorus, directed with distinction by Michael Hampe, gives a memorable impression of the revolutionary mob. Julius Rudel's conducting is totally idiomatic. --Joe McLellan

It would have been better, of course, if this 1984 production of Donizetti's Anna Bolena, or at least its title role, had been filmed 20 years earlier, when Joan Sutherland's voice was in its spectacular prime. But like her Canadian Opera Norma, dating from 1981, this is a better-late-than-never documentation of one of the most remarkable voices of the 20th century.

Lotfi Mansouri spared no effort or expense in making this production special. He personally directed the staging, and handpicked an outstanding cast (right down to the very young and then-unknown Ben Heppner in the small role of Hervey). The visual elements--sets, costumes, and camera work--are also handled with great care, and Sutherland's positive response to this dedication can be sensed in her performance as the unfortunate wife of King Henry VIII. James Morris is best-known as a Wagnerian singer--perhaps the leading Wotan of our time--but he is equally at home in many of the villainous roles that are the fate of bass- baritones (Iago, Scarpia, Don Giovanni). In this sinister tale of an innocent woman ruthlessly destroyed, he shows a surprising knack for the bel canto style. Judith Forst is also excellent in the role of Jane Seymour. --Joe McLellan
