0ur opinion:

:
The compact, lightweight Sony AC-E30A 110/220 Volt AC Power Adapter provides steady, reliable power for virtually any electronic device requiring 3 Volts DC

:
The Sony AC-E30A is an appropriate AC adaptor for home or while traveling abroad. The slim profile makes it a nice accessory to pack away in a small bag or backpack. Sony has made this adaptor about one-third the weight of previous models, which will make the backpack tourists very happy. With the foldable AC plug blade, the adaptor becomes a straight-lined package, further enhancing its convenient storage capability. The adaptor is worldwide voltage capable. The low waiting-power consumption is a nice energy saving feature, while the large current capacity is a plus for its wide range of uses. With the 6.5 foot cord, reaching those ill-spaced outlets is made a bit easier. The AC-E30A has a rated output of 3V DC and a rated input of 100-240V AC.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * It's just what I needed ...
I have 6 Sony MX-20 digital recorders and I got tired of replacing AAA batteries so I purchased 3 of these AC adapters and they work just fine. The cord is extra long so it is very convenient to use.

Buyer's feedback: 1 out of 5 stars - Buyer Beware: No Power Adaptor
The sound is okay, but I don't recommend this item for one simple reason: no power cord. It doesn't state (at least in the description above) that there's no power cord included with this unit. That costs extra time and hassle. There are a lot of units out there that do come with a power adaptor: buy one of those instead.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Excellent AC Power Adaptor ...
I am very happy when using this Adapter. I am using it for my Sony ICD-MX20DR9 because it saves my batteries when synchronizing with my pc or when using it in home. This Adapter is not including my ICD-MX20DR9 box. It's folding plug blade save place sceptically when moving some where. I recommend this for all Sony products that needs 3V in.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Adaptor
I am very happy with this adaptor...it turned my portable cd player/radio into an electric appliance saving on battery use. I purchased small speakers so i can use it when I do tai chi, dance or cook. It can also be used worldwide. The price and service are excellent. Thanks.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * AC power cord ...
The only thing I found wrong with this product is that as a consumer, I didnt take the time to search to see if this was in fact a battery charger. I had the idea of a power adaper being something which could charge my voice recorder (seeing as the power input is at the bottom of the recorder). Please search as a consumer what each specific product does. I have learned the hard way. I hope this review helps. Sony AC-E30A Worldwide AC Power Adaptor with Folding Plug Blade

Joshua Logan's 1967 film of the hit Broadway musical about the love triangle between King Arthur (Richard Harris), Guenevere (Vanessa Redgrave), and Sir Lancelot (Franco Nero) is strong on star emphasis and weak on such fundamentals as story and sets. Except for a handful of solidly dramatic scenes--such as Guenevere grieving, late in the film, for the ruination she and Lancelot have caused--there's not a lot to get excited about. (The story's theme of a lost, great society, however, certainly struck a chord in the 1960s.) The Lerner-Loewe songs ("If Ever I Would Leave You," "Camelot") pretty much sell themselves, even if they are, at best, only proficiently performed in this movie. --Tom Keogh

"The book was better" has been the complaint of many a reader since the invention of movies. Frank Darabont's second adaptation of a Stephen King prison drama (The Shawshank Redemption was the first) is a very faithful adaptation of King's serial novel. In the middle of the Depression, Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) runs death row at Cold Mountain Penitentiary. Into this dreary world walks a mammoth prisoner, John Coffey (Michael Duncan) who, very slowly, reveals a special gift that will change the men working and dying (in the electric chair, masterfully and grippingly staged) on the mile . As with King's book, Darabont takes plenty of time to show us Edgecomb's world before delving into John Coffey's mystery. With Darabont's superior storytelling abilities, his touch for perfect casting, and a leisurely 188-minute running time, his movie brings to life nearly every character and scene from the novel. Darabont even improves the novel's two endings, creating a more emotionally satisfying experience. The running time may try patience, but those who want a story, as opposed to quick-fix entertainment, will be rewarded by this finely tailored tale. --Doug Thomas

On the DVD

Listen to our interview with Frank Darabont.
Anyone who has seen this Oscar-nominated film knows Frank Darabont likes to t-a-k-e h-i-s t-i-m-e. He certainly does the same in filling all three hours of his commentary track which he recorded over several sessions. Darabont has studied other DVDs and purposely does not repeat tidbits covered in the excellent new 90-minute documentary on author Stephen King and the making of the film. Other solid segments are two deleted scenes, a never-used teaser trailer, and Michael Duncan Clarke's screen test. The highlight is two remarkable tests of Tom Hanks in old-age makeup. Both are very credible, but it was decided to use another actor. The outcome is a DVD that puts the "special" back into the special edition. --Doug Thomas

When Roman tribune Marcellus Gallio (Richard Burton) is sent to Jerusalem, one of his assignments is the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Marcellus, a cynical and hardened man, wins the robe Jesus wore to the crucifixion while gambling with other Roman soldiers underneath the dying savior. He later becomes convinced that his hallucinations and violent outbursts are the result of a curse received from the robe, which is now in the possession of his escaped slave, Demetrius (Victor Mature), somewhere in the Middle East. He sets out to find Demetrius in order to destroy the robe and the curse and finds faith instead, converting to Christianity. This was the first movie to be filmed in CinemaScope, and won Oscars in 1953 for costume design, art direction, and set decoration. The visual aspects of the film are stunning, and it may be worth viewing for that alone; however, the script and acting leave much to be desired, and you won't find inspiration in these areas if that's what interests you. If, however, you are more interested in this film for its religious matter, the story of the conversion of the hardened Marcellus is inspiring. --James McGrath
