Lightweight and secure enough for vigorous active use, the MDR-J10 headphones--part of Sony's h.ear line--feature a comfortable, vertical, in-ear form, a clip-on fit that follows the contour of your ears, and a stable, non-slip design built to withstand exercising, skating, dancing, or other sports. The MDR-J10 earcups use an open-air design that lets you hear ambient sound. This ability to hear outside noises is a safety issues as much as a quality of sound issue. With these headphones, you can keep track of car horns, passing bicyclists and barking dogs.
These headphones have 13.5 mm driver units; while small enough to place comfortably inside the ear, they are also powerful units producing a nice bass sound. Neodymium magnets give the headphones maximum energy at a minimal size and weight. The MDR-J10's clip-on design is hair-friendly and keeps the size of the headphones small. - * Inexpensive and works like a charm ... I bought these little wonders to replace another replacement set that were awful, and hurt my ears. This pair not only do not hurt, but they are much easier to put on, they stay on better, and the sound is wonderful. I listen to books while commuting to work each day, and I love these.

- DissappointedI was very dissappointed in these headphones. They don't fit around my ears right. One of them seems to curl around different than the other, but I can't tell the difference in the curvature just by looking at them. I tried to wear them while working out, but they fell off after about 5 seconds.

- Great headphones, great quality, great priceA couple years ago I bought these headphones, and I have just now had to replace them - and I'm going with the same product. I love that they lasted so long for $10 headphones, and trust me, they were put through the wringer: the cord was pulled and yanked countless times and the ear buds were sweated on through and through in a zillion workouts. Finally yesterday, the sound gave out on one side. Just bought a new set, and I'm hoping these are as tough. The clip on style is great, since typical ear buds don't stay in my ears.

Pretty good sound. Not a lot of bass, but I wasn't really expecting that. Cord is a little short, but it's not so short that I would lower the rating. The only problem I have is that I've now had 3 pairs of these, and one ear keeps shorting out. Not sure why...
