* Software and Firmware ...
This camera comes with good hardware, it is a rebrand of icamview iCV-22.
The firmware uses UDP, not my favorite choice, it will not allow you to use any software other than the one that came with it.
To make things much worse, the software that came with it gives me very little features, and i find it inconvenient .
All in all, i would advise you to stay away from them, i have had good results with trendnet (works for many months and not a reset needed yet), D-LINK and AXIS, they are good, this thing i am waiting to hack *(ARM processor), Install linux and start from there, if i manage to install linux on this thing, it can become anything from a print server (With a USB printer) to a nice IP CAM... But until that day, stay away from this one.

perfectly adequate for the price!
unlike the other reviewer, I was able to take this out of the box and have it working within about 10 minutes.
The trick is:
* Connect to a DHCP-enabled network (your Router will take care of this for you)
* Don't waste time installing any software from the CD - try and connect to the web server built into the unit (it even tells you the correct IP address to connect to)
* Remember that the password they supply is CASE-sensitive
I do agree with the previous reviewer that the password scheme is way too complicated, but it can be overcome.

* Great hardware, ruined by an MBA ...
I was really interested in trying this product. I operate several retail stores. Each has dsl, and I use ethernet cameras to montior the store operations. As far as I can tell, dsl routers can expose only 1 local ip address to the outside world via a dmz, so I've been limited to one camera per store.
This device includes a very small web server, smaller than a deck of cards. Up to two USB cameras can plug into this little web server, which in turn plugs into your router. so you can have (in theory) two cameras on one router.
Sadly, this excellent hardware has been ruined by what can only be the hand of an idiot MBA.
When you get the box there is a note telling you to run the enclosed utility CD and update the firmware. I did this, and was told that there were no updates.
You then need to walk through a double password setup program. You are warned that if you lose your password you must "contact your reseller for a reset password". I'm sure Jeff Bezos has the reset password for this unit on a post-it note right on his desk. Another way to read this note is "if you have any problem, KMACYOYO". KMACYOYO is an Air Force radio code for "kiss my a**, you're on your own".
I ran through the password maze many times, and never got it recognize the password they provide via a sticker on the cd jacket.
Based on reading the instructions, I decided to try to download the latest firmware manually and install the latest firm manually.
The utility program recoginzed the download, ran a progress bar, paused and then displayed a dialog that said "The update did not finish. Please click the Finish Button". There was no other choice. After I clicked the finish button I truely was finished. The utility software locked up, and the camera's direct webpage refused all my attempts to enter the double secret password.
The hardware seemed really clever, and I had high hopes the device would be very useful.
Sadly, some idiot MBA type decided for some crazy reason to put in this elaborate activation based password scheme. Why? I bought his hardware. I didn't even want to use his software, prefering to use my own commerical monitoring software (Netcam Watcher Pro).
To crown all the idiot MBA at SVAT doesn't want to pay for any tech support, telling you to "contact your reseller".
If the idiot MBA at SVAT doesn't want to support his hardware, he should make it completely open, not locked up behind an activation code.
Do not buy this product unless and until you find someone who has taken the time to hack the idiot MBA software to defeat the stupid non-functional product activation scheme.
This camera is going back, and I'll get a DLink or Axis.
