:
Have you just bought a widescreen HDTV compatible TV? There are a few options on how to get any or good HDTV reception. Cable-TV and Satellite might be the best but the monthly rates are over $40 each month. HDTV is also available free over broadcast airwaves. This is an indoor antenna that's designed to capture HDTV from normal VHF and UHF TV tuner frequencies. Provides access to no-cost HD programming Excellent for urban environments where space is at a premium and outdoor antenna installation isn't possible Appealing design with small footprint Anyone can install HDTVa in minutes

:
The high-performance HDTVa amplified indoor HDTV antenna from Terk Technologies is designed to capture both UHF and VHF signals (channels 2 to 69) while extending the reception range for all local HDTV broadcasts. The HDTVa uses an ultra-low-noise, high-gain amplifier with Terk's exclusive Dual-Drive Amplifier technology for clear reception of both distant and close HDTV and DTV stations.

As suitable for those living in city apartments as for those in suburban homes, the compact HDTVa lets viewers experience HDTV broadcasts in full resolution. Designed for total reception versatility, the HDTVa's high-gain antenna array can be oriented either horizontally or vertically within its mounting base to achieve optimum capture of off-air broadcasts.

Set the amplifier to high-gain mode to compensate for signals that are too weak or might otherwise be bypassed for a stronger signals nearby. Simplifying your installation, the HDTVa uses Terk's Power lnjector to derive power via its coaxial connecting cable. The result? 0ne cable is all you have to connect, making it easy to install the HDTVa atop or near your television.

The antenna is engineered to receive all local HDTV channels, with an operating bandwidth covering both the UHF (channels 2 to 13) and VHF (channels 14 to 69) frequency ranges. lts highly directional log periodic UHF and precision VHF elements are designed to receive HDTV broadcasts with maximum signal strength while rejecting all or most interference. The HDTVa is as exceptional in appearance as it is in performance: its curved, tapering, polished-aluminum antenna elements are mounted in a slim base with a contoured front that visually complements the curve of the antenna elements.

Testimonials

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - * Great! ...
This works so much better than the last one I bought,, and it was about half the price here on Amazon.

Buyer's feedback: 3 out of 5 stars - As good/bad as RAC ANT-111
I tried both. Really, RCA 111 that goes on sale at BB for $9.99 does the same job without power supply.

I ended up returning this pricy, bulky Terk antenna of course.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - * Outstanding Indoor Antenna ...
The Terk HDTVa indoor antenna does an outstanding job in bringing in the HDTV transmitting stations in my area. Most of the stations are 19 to 21 miles away from my home. Luckily, they are in the same direction 159 degrees and the PBS station is 174 degrees - so I don't have to move the antenna at all to receive the signals.

I tried to go digital several months ago with the antenna I was using for analog reception. Almost all the station reception was poor. I selected the Terk HDTVa antenna and was very happily surprised how much of an improvement I got with the digital reception. It took several days to select a position for the antenna which provided the best reception. Now I get terrific reception of 19 stations. All the stations come in clear even though the antenna is on the ground floor.

I highly recommend this antenna for over the air reception of HDTV stations.

Buyer's feedback: 5 out of 5 stars - Works Great! Picks up all OTA HD stations within ~40mi
I use this antenna in the Sacramento area. It has no problem picking up my local HD stations within ~40 mi. It doesn't seem to be able to pick up stations in the Stockton area at ~60 mi away. So I'd say if you are looking for a cheap indoor antenna for stations in the 40-50mi radius, this one fits the bill.

Buyer's feedback: 4 out of 5 stars - * Excellent indoor antenna but be careful to follow ALL installation instructions ...
This antenna looked interesting, but I read an unfavorable review by Y. Chang. He purchased this antenna (Terk HDTVa) first, but could pick up NOTHING on it. Over a period of several weeks , he tried several other antennas, and ended up recommending the Philips MANT510 antenna which has very high (50DB) gain and worked best for his situation. That nearly convinced me to go with the Philips MANT510. However, when I checked the reviews on amazon for that antenna, I found that they were generally much worse than for the Terk HDTVa. The Terk HDTVa had mostly positive reviews except for a few negative ones like Y. Chang's. I unded up playing the percentages and ordering the Terk HDTVa from amazon with free shipping.

Well yesterday I received and installed the new Terk HDTVa antenna. At first, I got the exact same result as Y. Chang stated in his review. I could pick up absolutely no stations. This was a surprise since prior to purchasing the new Terk antenna, I tried using the normal rabbit ears antenna that came with our table model 14" analog TV. The TV antenna now feeds into one of the Digital to analog converter boxes that will be required in 2009, but should work now also. With the original rabbit ears I could get 3-4 stations, but not the one (channel 7 from Detroit) that we normally watch news on. We live in a western suburb of Detroit and are probably 30-40 miles from the Detroit towers. However, the fact that the new amplified Terk HDTVa antenna performed worse than rabbit ears on the same TV in the same location was suspicious. I checked all the coax wires and verified that everything appeared to be connected properly. Finally, I noticed a red tag stuck to the metal fishbone antenna which has to be pushed into the upright part of the antenna as part of the installation. The tag (in small print) said that the fishbone antanna must be pushed in passed a mark on the red tag. Mine was about a quarter inch shy of the mark on the tag, even though it was snug and appeared to bottom out when I pushed it on. The tag warned that to get it past the red tag mark would require lots of force. So I pushed REAL hard, and sure enough the fishbone moved another quarter inch into the upright part of the antenna. After that, I started receiving most of the Detroit UHF and VHF stations, including channel 7. I am very satisfied with the Terk HDTVa antenna, even though when I first tried it, it did not work and I thought I would have to return it to . I suspect that Y. Chang had the same problem with his Terk HDTVa antenna that I did. It took me over an hour to trouble shoot and fix this problem.

You can say this about D.E.B.S.: director Angela Robinson’s 2005 feature isn’t very good, but it is surprisingly entertaining. The premise, which bears a passing resemblance to any number of previous films (from Heathers and Clueless to Charlie’s Angels and the Austin Powers franchise), involves a secret government agency recruiting young women as spies, based on their smarts, their ability to lie convincingly, and the fact that they look fetching in ultra-miniskirts. Four of the D.E.B.S. are then charged with collaring "criminal mastermind" Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster), who has returned to the States after hatching all manner of nefarious plots overseas. Then comes the twist: Diamond is gay, and one of our heroines, Amy Bradshaw (Sara Foster), unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with her. Out goes the espionage element; in comes the love story, and therein lies the surprise, as this burgeoning lesbian relationship is handled with unexpected sympathy, even tenderness. Sure, the acting, even by veteran grownups like Holland Taylor and Michael Clarke Duncan, is almost uniformly lame, and the script is silly; overall, the film would have to put on considerable weight to even be considered frothy. Still, D.E.B.S. isn’t a bad way to kill a couple of hours. DVD bonus features include a making-of featurette and commentary by Robinson and the cast. --Sam Graham

The teaming of Johnny Knoxville (Jackass: The Movie) and Seann William Scott (Dude, Where's My Car?) as well as the presence of the '70s-flavored car chases that were a specialty of the TV series guarantees that The Dukes of Hazzard will be even more lowbrow than the CBS TV series (1979-85) that inspired it. However, this brain-damaging comedy is more "rehash" than "remake," as good ol' Georgiaboys Luke Duke (Knoxville) and his cousin Bo (Scott) are frequently upstaged bythe General Lee, the Confederate-flagged '69 Charger that they drive, jump, race, and fly in as they smuggle moonshine for their Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson). Meanwhile, cousin Daisy Duke (Jessica Simpson) is reliably available to model her short-shorts (aka "Daisy Dukes") and awesome figure (and let's face it, Simpson's talents pretty much begin and end right there), while corrupt honcho Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds, who should know better) recruits a local NASCAR star to advance his wily scheme of converting Hazzard County into a strip mine. Director Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers) manages to mine some good-natured humor from the movie's oval-track detour and a few colorful supporting players (notably Kevin Hefferman as the Duke's pal Sheev). Otherwise, consider yourself warned: The Dukes of Hazzard is shameless Hollywood product at its most forgettable, trafficking in shameless white, rural Southern stereotypes. If you can make itto the end, there's a blooper reel to reward your endurance. --Jeff Shannon

DVD features
Yes, the unrated edition of The Dukes of Hazzard has nudity... but no, it's not of Jessica Simpson, but topless sorority girls. There are also two sets--"PG-13" and "unrated"--of deleted scenes and bloopers. The four minutes of unrated deleted scenes (supplementing the 25 minutes of "PG-13" deleted scenes) include more sorority girls and a menage à trois for Johnny Knoxville . The five minutes of unrated bloopers (the same amount as the "PG-13" bloopers) feature a few more girls but mostly bad language. Featurettes discuss the Daisy Duke short shorts (and show how you can make your own), car stunts, and the making of the movie (narrated by a cast member of the original TV series). --David Horiuchi
