Buyer's feedback: - * Great GPS ...
I'm very happy with the Go 720. I already have a Go 510 and wanted the slimmer unit and text to speech on the 720. The refurb looks and works like a new unit. The coupon code in the box for a free latest map (LMG) download didn't work, but TomTom provided the update with zero hassles after a quick phone call and upload of my invoice. I now have Navcor 8.3 and US maps 815.2019 installed. I downloaded the "Kate" UK English computer voice (I admit, I'm an old guy and like being given orders by a British woman). Some street names are pronounced a bit awkwardly, but most are excellent. Some pros and cons:
Pro:
- Very solid, quality feel
- Excellent display with quality graphics
- As with my previous Go 510, I really like TomTom's ability to plan complex itineraries, review the entire route, and save/recall the itineray. Unless I could confirm that another brand has comparable capability, I would only buy a TomTom due to this one feature. I've used a Mio C220 which has comparable itinerary capability but no save/recall, and a Magellan 2200T which has the save/recall, but is lousy for reviewing the route. From what I've read, Garmins can only handle a single via point which I don't consider a "complex itinerary".
- I like the minimalist windshield mount. I plan to take this system with me when I fly out of town and then get a rental car, and this windshield mount takes up less packing space than most.
- I'm very happy that it uses a standard mini-USB power cord - one less unique power adaptor to lug around.
- I have to give TomTom support a good review. In two phone calls, I had near zero hold time and spoke with competent, understandable people.
Con:
- As others have found, the small windshield bracket doesn't work well with a dashboard beanbag mount. I like using my beanbag for local use in my own car, so I may have to invest in an aftermarket bracket for that.
- While getting the latest maps was pretty painless, it would have been even easier if the LMG code in the box had worked.
- A minor gripe, but I wish the volume control weren't burried two menus deep, and like someone else mentioned I wish TomTom would use feet/miles instead of yards/miles for their USA-English distance units.
Buyer's feedback: - like new
been using for a month, came in factory sealed box with 1 year warranty, one heck of a deal, works great, no marks of any kind ,can't even tell it is a refurb
Buyer's feedback: - * Outstanding ...
This GPS unit worked as advertized and a great deal. I am still learning how everything works, but I have used it on one trip of about 100 miles and it worked very well. I really like the hands free feature and was very pleased with the quality of the sound. The voice coming from the internal speaker is loud and clear. The 4.3 inch screen is easy to see and is really bright and clear. I am not sure how the FM transmitter works yet, but it is a pretty cool feature. I wish I had bought this GPS sooner, it is going to make travel much simpler.
Buyer's feedback: - Great Deal for money
Looked like new worked like new - loved the refub deal. A lot of features and am still playing with it to figure it out... love the Bluetooth phone deal. Only issue so far if you have music and direction playing on car radio it does not redirect the phone conversation to car radio... ( if i am missing it please feel free to educate me) - I will recommend it...
Buyer's feedback: - * It's a good poduct ...
The Tom-Tom GO 720 does what was promised. I am not a GPS expert and the TomTom brand is all I have used (ONE 3rd edition and now the GO 720).
The navigation is easy to use, the map recalculations are quick, and the screen is very customizable. The Negative on the product is that the FM transmitter is a bit too weak. Even when tuned to a non-used station, any interference comes through, and also you need to keep scanning for unused stations when traveling. I will try the cassette adapter on the next trip to see if it is any better.
The light sensor worked well changing between the day and night views as needed. I added a 2 GB memory card to load MP3 files which allowed us to not carry 15 CDs on our trip. (I would go with a 4GB or larger next time)
The highway speed indicator was nice to have, it let us know when we were three miles an hour over the speed limit and beeped and flashed till we got back down to speed.
This was a great feature as we had a new driver (16 year old) that tended to drift in speed, this allowed us to keep the card speed in front of us and let the new driver also know when she was speeding. (Very nice feature)
The battery test went for about 4 hours, this was a better than I was expecting based on other reports I have read.
This raw work-flow application isn't the Holy Grail many hoped it would be, but Apple Aperture 1.5 could make life easier for photographers who need to cull, retouch, and output large numbers of photographs quickly and efficiently.

You can say this about D.E.B.S.: director Angela Robinsons 2005 feature isnt very good, but it is surprisingly entertaining. The premise, which bears a passing resemblance to any number of previous films (from Heathers and Clueless to Charlies Angels and the Austin Powers franchise), involves a secret government agency recruiting young women as spies, based on their smarts, their ability to lie convincingly, and the fact that they look fetching in ultra-miniskirts. Four of the D.E.B.S. are then charged with collaring "criminal mastermind" Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster), who has returned to the States after hatching all manner of nefarious plots overseas. Then comes the twist: Diamond is gay, and one of our heroines, Amy Bradshaw (Sara Foster), unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with her. Out goes the espionage element; in comes the love story, and therein lies the surprise, as this burgeoning lesbian relationship is handled with unexpected sympathy, even tenderness. Sure, the acting, even by veteran grownups like Holland Taylor and Michael Clarke Duncan, is almost uniformly lame, and the script is silly; overall, the film would have to put on considerable weight to even be considered frothy. Still, D.E.B.S. isnt a bad way to kill a couple of hours. DVD bonus features include a making-of featurette and commentary by Robinson and the cast. --Sam Graham
The teaming of Johnny Knoxville (Jackass: The Movie) and Seann William Scott (Dude, Where's My Car?) as well as the presence of the '70s-flavored car chases that were a specialty of the TV series guarantees that The Dukes of Hazzard will be even more lowbrow than the CBS TV series (1979-85) that inspired it. However, this brain-damaging comedy is more "rehash" than "remake," as good ol' Georgiaboys Luke Duke (Knoxville) and his cousin Bo (Scott) are frequently upstaged bythe General Lee, the Confederate-flagged '69 Charger that they drive, jump, race, and fly in as they smuggle moonshine for their Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson). Meanwhile, cousin Daisy Duke (Jessica Simpson) is reliably available to model her short-shorts (aka "Daisy Dukes") and awesome figure (and let's face it, Simpson's talents pretty much begin and end right there), while corrupt honcho Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds, who should know better) recruits a local NASCAR star to advance his wily scheme of converting Hazzard County into a strip mine. Director Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers) manages to mine some good-natured humor from the movie's oval-track detour and a few colorful supporting players (notably Kevin Hefferman as the Duke's pal Sheev). Otherwise, consider yourself warned: The Dukes of Hazzard is shameless Hollywood product at its most forgettable, trafficking in shameless white, rural Southern stereotypes. If you can make itto the end, there's a blooper reel to reward your endurance. --Jeff Shannon
DVD features Yes, the unrated edition of The Dukes of Hazzard has nudity... but no, it's not of Jessica Simpson, but topless sorority girls. There are also two sets--"PG-13" and "unrated"--of deleted scenes and bloopers. The four minutes of unrated deleted scenes (supplementing the 25 minutes of "PG-13" deleted scenes) include more sorority girls and a menage à trois for Johnny Knoxville . The five minutes of unrated bloopers (the same amount as the "PG-13" bloopers) feature a few more girls but mostly bad language. Featurettes discuss the Daisy Duke short shorts (and show how you can make your own), car stunts, and the making of the movie (narrated by a cast member of the original TV series). --David Horiuchi
