TomTom's 3rd edition update to the world's bestselling (as of this writing, 8/30/08) portable navigation device features an updated chipset that provides better satellite lock and TomTom's new MapShare technology that lets you add your own map corrections and points of interest, then upload your corrections to and download other corrections from millions of other TomTom users via the TomTom H0ME website.

MapShare lets you add your own map corrections and P0ls, then share them with the entire TomTom user community via the TomTom H0ME website.

Even though the 0NE, 3rd Edition is TomTom's entry-level portable GPS vehicle navigation device, it remains a complete solution with an incredible range of features.


Tiny, but Tough
A sleek design and a sharp display combine to make the TomTom 0NE a vital companion on the road. THe 0NE, 3rd edition comes pre-loaded with complete maps for the United States and Canada.



Weighing less than 10 ounces and measuring 4.33 x 3.5 x 1.34 inches, the TomTom 0NE can be easily installed in any vehicle. An included windshield suction mount holds it in place. Plus, with an operating temperature range of an icy -10 degrees to a sweltering 55 degrees Celsius (14 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit), the navigator is durable enough for New England winters or Arizona summers. The TomTom 0NE is powered by an internal lithium ion battery that can be charged from your vehicle's cigarette lighter with the included 12-24V adapter.




Easy To Use
The user-friendly design also puts it a step above other navigation systems. The crystal-clear multicolor display makes for exceptionally easy viewing of maps, routes, driving directions, and other traveling information, such as mileage and distance. Measuring 3.5 inches, the TFT display offers a resolution of 320 x 240 to provide brilliant two- and three-dimensional graphics. Buyer's feedback: - * Terrible Customer Service ...
I have the TomTom130. Since Day 1, the unit has been malfunctioning (failure to turn on, lost satellites, incorrect directions, etc.)

TomTom supports a 14-day warranty ONLY on this $200 electronic item. When I contacted them, they basically told me "tough luck". I would switch to a manufacturer that produces a higher quality product with a stronger warranty.

Buyer's feedback: - MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE YOUR MAPS WITHIN 30 DAYS!
I was going on a trip to Florida in April and bought this at the last minute before I left. I compared it to the basic Garmin and Magellan GPS's and purchased it because the price was right and delivery was quick. Very nice for a basic GPS, although it does not give street names. Screen is difficult to see in bright light. So far, it has been quite accurate. The biggest caution I would offer is to make sure you connect to a computer and do the free upgraded maps within the 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, there is no way to get the newer maps without paying big bucks. I contacted TomTom customer service (mind you, I had to go to the [...] database to find a valid phone number), and while the representative was very nice, she said there was no way she could help me with the map update after 30 days. She did recommend that I update the customer corrections which have been submitted, which I have done. Guess I should have read all the fine print more carefully, but it arrived in the mail and went right into my suitcase and I didn't go back to the paperwork until after a month later. My bad. Otherwise, I like the unit, but would have prefered a larger screen and street names in the verbal assists.

Do not do business with this company. I just bought this product and have had nothing but trouble with map updates and their technical support department. Their solution to everything is try and sell you upgrades and then you discover you have to purchase hardware updates to use the upgrades. They are the most disreputable company I have ever dealt with and have a total lack of customer service mentality. Be warned that these units come with very outdated maps.

Excellent service, fast shipping. The TomTom one 3rd edition is a great little gps system. The only problem I have is after the first initial map upgrade, subsequent upgrades are charged and this is not really explained before purchase. I'll probably sell this one instead of upgrading in a year or so as the new system won't cost much more than the upgrade. Other than that, works as expected.
