But it's not just the broad geographical coverage that makes the TomTom 0NE XL-S special. The user-friendly design also puts it a step above other navigation systems. The crystal-clear multicolor display makes for exceptionally easy viewing of maps, routes, driving directions, and other traveling information, such as mileage and distance. Measuring 4.3 inches, the TFT display offers an expanded widescreen view of brilliant two- and three-dimensional graphics.

With its touch-sensitive screen, the TomTom 0NE XL-S puts programming and operation literally at your fingertips to make sophisticated technology simple. The built-in database offers thousands of points of interest for you to use as destinations or reference points as you plan your trip. The 0NE XL-S will also provide a selection of available routes, giving you the option of avoiding toll roads or choosing between the quickest or the most scenic routes. The 4.3-inch (diagonal) 3D driving view offers a clear picture of the road and maneuvers ahead (actual size).

For additional navigational features to assist with trip planning, the built-in Bluetooth connection provides access to TomTom PLUS subscription-based services, so that you can tune in to the latest traffic and weather conditions, as well as download additional city maps, voices, points of interest, and much more. The 0NE XL-S adds to these capabilities with FM radio-based RDS-TMC traffic information as an available accessory (not included).



Weighing less than 10 ounces and measuring 3.4 x 4.7 x 1.2 inches, the TomTom 0NE XL-S can be easily installed in any vehicle. An included windshield suction mount holds it in place. Plus, with an operating temperature range of an icy -10 degrees to a sweltering 55 degrees Celsius (14 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit), the navigator is durable enough for New England winters or Arizona summers. The TomTom 0NE XL-S is powered by an internal lithium ion battery that can be charged from your vehicle's cigarette lighter with the included 12-24V adapter.

We purchased TomTom XLS 08/02/08 for a trip to Canada. Many time the
GPS did not know where we were. Just yesterday I was going to see a family member in Indianapolis. She lived at the same address for about 3 years but street not in GPS. I called tech support and was told street on their new release but because I owned GPS more than 30 days I would have to pay for a new map $119.00. I feel like I was ripped off.

The Tom Tom I bought as new was missing seval excessaries. Company said they would send them. I'm still waiting.
The Tom Tom made a noise when removed from packaging. Contacted Tom Tom Company, They requested I send it to them. Since one area of the Tom Tom was missing a cover over an area, They indicated that the unit might have been a refurbuished unit and not new.

Buyer's feedback: - For those whom say it doesn't read street names...
I just purchased the tomtom one xl-s (the unit itself only says xl not xl-s, BUT when I power it on, it says xl-s on the opening screen) and was going through a lot of trial and error with it. Some say that it doesn't say street names; I was having the same problem. I found out that you have to use the 'susan' "computer" female voice only, not in combination with the 'human' voice because if you do that, it will not read the street names. If you use susan all by herself, she reads the street names. The xl unit does not read street names but the xl-s does. Go see the chart on the product page here and it will show you that. I've also been going through heck trying to see if this thing "dings" when you're about to make a turn; for this price, it should have all the bells & whistles!

Though the TomTom One XL-S is easy to use, the POI database is just awful. According to the data, my city has no Barnes & Noble, Sears, Payless shoe source, Toys R Us, Lowes, Zoo, Aquarium, Cultural Center, Mall or grocery stores. This was the result even after updating the map software and down loading the 'retail stores' file from their web site. It left me wondering what else it had omitted. I have returned the TomTom and went back to a Garmin.
